How Do You Address Your MIL?

Ok ladies, is it just me or does anyone else feel the same?

I address my MIL as Mrs. X when I was dating DH. Now that we are married, she asked me to address her as 'Mom' or 'FirstName'

Does anyone have problems adjusting? Do you address MIL differently after your marriage?

I call her by her first name but the thought of 'hey woman' made me smile

Mama J or Mama J----- (last name), but when I call the house and ask for her I just say mom. FH calls my mom by her first name.

i call her Mom... that is what she is to me
And I call my mother Mommy.... my mother is not happy about me calling my MIL 'Mom' but she will get over it.

I am glad to see I am not the only one with this problem. I dont call them anything. I have waited for them to look at me then I needed to say something. If I really had to get there attention I would say Mr. & Mrs when we were dating. Now that were engaged for the past 5 months I have not called them anything and I dont know what to call them. They never said what they wanted to be called either. If I call the house I usually just say hi it's Fran.

FH will not call my parents mom or dad he calls them by their first names now that were engaged. I think I can call them mom and dad but I still have not said it so maybe I cant. I dont know what to call them!!!

OMG I TOTALLY agree with almost every word!!! Too funny!!! I've been having this argument with FH for a while now. I told his parents I would like to call them mom and dad because thats what they are to me. They want me to start using that now, but I just can't bring myself to say it!!! I STILL wait for them to look at me!!!

I call her mom and he calls my mom, mom! i am very close to my FMIL! she asked me to call her mom

I call her by her first name...always have. I would NEVER call her mom. I only have one and nobody else deserves that. (IMO)

if she's not facing me and I need to tell her something, I just start talking and hope she realizes I'm talking to her.

But in cards, I write Mom, because that's how she signs them. Probably after the wedding, I'd feel comfortable calling her Mom, but don't know if FH would feel comfortable calling my parents Mom and Dad.
