How do you all clean your ring?

How do you all clean your ring?

I finally got my ring appraised today by the Jewelry Judge (he was great BTW) and he was saying that the liquid solution-soaky things don't do anything. He had this sonic cleaner for $15. Now I'm thinking I should have bought it. ( he wasn't being pushy or anything.)

windex or soak it in denture cleaning powder, the name escapes me now, efferdent, i think. that works really well.

If you can swing it, an ultrasonic is great. I clean mine that way but do so with my job's machines and it's free. A little ammonia (I guess windex serves the same purpose) and warm water also does wonders. Toothpaste is a great abrasive cleaner for the metal part...ammonia (or windex) is for the stone's shiny sparkle!

when i wear it in the shower it gets pretty clean. i put it in the little $4 jewelry cleaner if I have to go somewhere or every couple of weeks

I have spoken to several jewelers, and they've all told me ammonia.

1/2 windex, 1/2 hot water. Also, if you have an espresso machine, you can use the steam wand to steam the ring clean. Just make sure not to put your finger near the steam!

I use the liquid cleaner that i got free at the fortunoff show. (it is thier brand) normally I would say those liquids don't work but this stuff is amazing!

Soak in regular Fantastik, Scrub with soft toothbrush, Rinse in very hot water, then rinse with cold water. Works for me.

I have one of those cleaners. It gets it clean, but I think every now and then you need a good scrubbing/professional cleaning.

My fmil is an expert on diamonds and she says that the best recipe for cleaning your ring is :

1/4 teaspoon of any dishwashing detergent
1cup of water
mix together and put in microwave for 2 min (or until mixture is boiling)
drop ring in mixture for about 30 seconds
rinse with cold water
It comes out absolutely beautiful!!!

Let me know if you try it!

Honestly, don't waste your money. I use the red solution for diamonds and the ring sparkles like it's brand new.

OMG...just tried d&D's little mixture....AWESOME!!

My mom always says dishwasher detergent is better than a jewelry cleaner...she discovered this when she accidentally dropped her rings in the dishwasher many years ago!

THANKS AGAIN

My future sister in law is a jeweler and she said to use windex and a toothbrush-be careful of those sonic cleaners overtime they can loosen the diamond
