How do you and FH....

so with the Eater and Passover holidays around the corner...

how do you and FH split the time??

Im a luck one! FH and I do not celebrate the same holidays and his family reallly doesnt celebrate the jewish holiday...he has adopted the catholic holidays like they are his own....

if i had to split the holidays....there would be such issues!!! i prob wouldnt be allowed to go...lol...my mom wouldnt have it!!

Both of our families are actually going out to easter dinner.

The holidays which will be a problem will be thanksgiving and christmas basically. OH, and mothers day.

thats so nice!!!! i wish i had that i couldn't even imagine the in-laws being here for holiday..not only bec they say all the wrong (could be hurtful) things...they just do not fit in..

This Easter will be easy. FH works on ships for a living so he is out to sea for a month at a time, then home for a month. Sooo...when he is away for a holiday I spend it with my family (with a phone call to my FIL's to wish them Happy Whatever). When he is home though - Thanksgiving is easy because our two families spend Thanksgiving together. As for Christmas, Christmas Eve is usually spent with my family, then Christmas Day with his. Or, we at least try to stop by the other person's family event for a holiday to split the day evenly....

i would love this too

we split EVERY holiday down to the minute, and we've been doing this for years-otherwise my mom throws a hissy fit that we love his family more

i told everyone that as soon as we get a house all holidays will be held at our house

Easter - FH cooks at our apartment & FMIL comes over & FH's aunt & uncle will be coming to our apartment this year too.

Thanksgiving - FH cooks at our apartment & its always been FMIL & FH's grandmother. its very special to FH because it was the only holiday FFIL spent in our apartment before he passed away.

Christmas Eve - is with my family.

Christmas Day - FH cooks at our apartment & its usually just me, FH & FMIL. & then we go to my uncles house.

-i think its only been this way because we currently live downstairs from my parents so we see them all the time. also because for thanksgiving my parents go to their house upstate & we don't want to leave FMIL home alone.

We used to spend the holidays with our own families when we both lived at home.

Now that we live together, the holidays are as follows:

Easter: Saturday dinner with my mom
Sunday - church with FIL's, dinner with my dad and sisters, dessert with FIL's

Thanksgiving: dinner at FIL's

Christmas eve - dinner and church with my mom
Christmas day - brunch with FIL's, dinner with dad and sisters, dessert with FIL's

Ever since my parents got divorced and FH and I moved in together, our holidays are nothing but driving from place to place

Its rough, especially now that we are living together. We are going to his parents house first (they eat earlier than my family), we will be there for a while and then we will go to my moms. Then we will finally go back to our house. It will be a very tiring day

we've been hosting every holiday for bout 3 yrs anow. so both family spend it together. but even if my mom were to have it at her house(which she offers but isay no cuz i like to cook lol) they would go over her house. we're a unit now lol scarey

We do palm sunday with all of FH's family and we do Easter with my entire family. Its been like that since we started dating. It works out wonderfully...

Our families don't spend the holidays together as they are meeting for the first time next week. We do all the holidays with my family except for Thanksgiving which we spent seperately last year but this year we will be together. I also do Christmas Eve with his family. My family doesn't do anything special for x-mas eve anyway.

thats pretty much what we do too..last year we ate easter dinner at FIL's house...now this year we are going to my house...then FH has to go to work

We try to split everything up, either by alternating years (Thanksgiving, Easter, etc.) or by splitting the days (Christmas Eve, Christmas). For this Easter, we spent Palm Sunday by his house and Easter by my house. I absolutely hate holidays for this reason, I hate family time ugh..

since it is just fmil and fbil fh and his family spend easter, and thanksgiving with my family. This year we are going to have problems with mothers day, fathers day (dont ask cuz his dad is not alive but Im still having issues) and christmas eve and day. His family is being a pain about their traditions and are not being flexible AT ALL!!!

We always spend it with my family since his lives in FL. Before his mother moved 3 yrs ago...it was only her here, so she joined my family and I usually cooked/hosted.
