Re: How do you and FH....
With FH in CT its sometimes a pain in the butt to split holidays. This Easter we are going to be at his house since its his weekend home though Id rather spend it at my Aunts house. ( I have the bigger family) He doesnt even know if anyone is cooking at his house for Easter what fun!
Mother's Day and Father's day it goes by whose weekend it is to be either in CT and NY
Thanksgiving we pick where to go and split the weekend up. We are usually at my Aunt for Thanksgiving and then spend the weekend with his Mom and Dad
Christmas this year we spent it at my house since his parents werent sure what they were doing till last min. But we usually split it up. This year will be easier with it being at the end of the week.

Re: How do you and FH....
We split pretty every holiday which kind of stinks because we spend the day driving all over but its worth it. I have a pretty small family so if one of us isnt there the whole day, it's not the same and I know he has to see his family too!

Re: How do you and FH....
For Easter this year I'm working 4-12 so we are going to brunch together with my family and then FH is gonna drop me off at work in the city on his way up to the Bronx to have dinner with his family. For the other holidays, we usually go back and forth between our families (together) for Christmas, and we've spent Thanksgiving with our own families but will probably start having both of our families spend Thanksgiving together from now on.

Re: How do you and FH....
One of the good things about being an interfaith couple is this is never an issue.
Thanksgiving is a huge thing in my family and not a big deal in his so we go to my parents for Thanksgiving and then we go to his for Christmas since my family is Jewish.

Re: How do you and FH....
We always split the holidays. There are a lot of little kids in his family and they do a big easter egg hunt in a park, so we spend the morning and afternoon with his family. Luckily, his aunt lives around the corner from my parents so we usually walk to my parents house and have dinner with them and then have another dinner with his family afterwards. lol.Christmas and New Years Eve are celebrated at midnight with his family, and we celebrate Christmas Day and New Years Day with my family. Kinda works out perfectly.

Re: How do you and FH....
It's hard for us with my parents being divorced. We have to rotate & choose between seeing his family, my mom with her boyfriend and then there is my dad with his girlfriend.
I'm hopefully spending Easter with my dad since my mom is going to a friends and FIL's are just terrible people!

Re: How do you and FH....
With my family living in Florida and our different religious backgrounds (he's Muslim and I'm Christian), it's never really been an issue. We spend Eid with his family (I don't fast for Ramadan but do go to his parents' house during Ramadan to help out with cooking for when they break their fast in the evening). Christmas is with mine, in Florida (providing airfare is reasonable...
) He and I usually spend Easter together, just the two of us. That leaves Thanksgiving, which can go either way depending on what our Christmas plans are - if we're going to FL for Christmas, then we stay here in NY for Thanksgiving with his folks.Welcome New Vendors
