How do you clean your showercurtain?

Dumb question probably but how do you wash a vinyl curtain so it is not mildewy or moldy?

lay it in the tub and scrub with bleach and water.

Either that or replace the liners since they are cheap.

i actually saw this on 'how clean is your house' last night. she placed the curtain in the tub w/ water and tide detergent.

wash them in the washing machine iwth bleach. i know they are so cheap toreplace but they are not the most environmentally friendly thing to toss.

I spray it w/ Clorox Clean-Up bleach and claen it.

Thanks guys...so far I have just been replacing them but I didn't want to keep doing that. How often do you lay them in the tub and scrub them? Isn't that a pain?

I put it in the washing machine with bleach once a month.

I also spray mine with bleach or bleach and water mixture and let it sit and then spray down with the shower head. Quick and easy to do.

Sometimes I throw themin the wash but I am usually too lazy to take it down and put it back up and the 1st approch works nicely. When they start getting too yucky or ripped - I toss them.

I buy Tilex and spray the curtains (the plastic liner part) Please wear an old t-hirt and shorts so that the bleach from the Tilex won't ruin your nicer clothing - I know this from experience

And then after 10 mins or so I use the shower head and turn the nozzle to the curtain.

I have fabric curtains but I also have them lined. I spray the liner with Tilex Mold and Mildew and rinse it off! The tilex Clean Shower (the one you use everyday) can also be used on shower curtains/liners to prevent scum/mildew

I do that too, but between every shower I squeegee down the tiles and shower curtain, so there's less water, and less water to eat away at the grout and form mold.

I spray it with bleach once a week when I wash the bathroom. I usually replace them every 6 months, but the last liner I bought is cloth, so I can wash it in the machine.
