Whats everyone's stance on this? Is it a place to splurge or to save? Do you feel like you'll watch the video over and over?
We booked our video through our photography and LOVE their photography work! However, their videography isnt as cinematographic (if thats a word ha ha) as I would like. Perhaps that will change over the next year.
Then again ... I knew I didnt want to spend $3k for video. Id love to hear others thoughts.

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
it def is a personal choice i wanted one, it doesnt have to be a crazy video.. just something to document the event
my cousin was just telling me yesterday that she would watch the video once a year, but now that she has kids, they are watching it all the time

Everyone is different, but we're not getting one. Pictures are more important to me. plus, its bad enough having a photographer after you all day, i didn't want someone taking video too LOL

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
I think having a videographer is a personal choice. I wanted it but FH didn't. I think photographs help capture moments and memories but I wanted the video in order to capture the emotions and our journey in that day.
For me photo's were the most imporatant: I was more concerned with the quality of photography and packages but when it came to video budget and basics came first. Our photographer had in house videography and had it presented beautifully so I lucked out
To me photographs are something that can be viewed (every so often) and requires the quick attention span of the eye, therefore meant to impress. Where as the video is much more personal and only has to satisfy your wants and needs because chances are your wedding day is a one time event for others but its a lifetime for you.

We are getting one. My brother and sister in law put theirs on for their children, it's so cute to see the kids' reactions. We splurged on ours, because I have been subjected to sitting down and watching entire videos of my friends' weddings, and I am making them all sit through mine, lmao. I thought we should splurge on a videographer that, although kind of pricey, produced an entertaining video of good quality.

Our videographer was also part of our package but I am a little concerned. Perhaps that is because I saw an AMAZING videographer and now wonder if I made the wrong choice! I didnt want to have regrets. What to do, what to do!

A video was a must for me.. i dont really think ill watch it over and over again.. but i know for myself if i didnt have it i would be very upset and would want to watch it... so it really is a personal choice.
Ours was included in our package and the price was great so it was a no brainer for me...

hmmm...for me it wasnt a question...i knew i wanted one for sure to remember the day in a different way then pictures...and both photo and video are so important to me....but for everyone its diff....if your heart isnt set on video id put the money toward something else you really want for your wedding that would make you happy!

IMO one of the most important things to spend money on is something that will last..that is video and pictures. I know me and FH will watch it so yeah for us its important to have as a keepsake. Pictures are great too but video is awesome because you can seee actual reactions and ceremony which you can never have back.

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
It's a must for us because I have sick grandparents out of state who will not be able to get on a place to come to our wedding so the video is as close as they get to seeing me get married.
If you are on the fence about it, I would say go for it because you don't want to have any regrets about not having more to remember the day. It is fun for family to watch. We watched my sister's wedding video at least five times. You are so busy that day that there are things you might miss or people you might not even get a chance to see, so it's nice to watch.

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
I definitely agree with everyone that it is a personal choice. My FH and I decided it wasn't for us, but my sister get one (and was happy she did). But if it is something you want definitely splurge for it because you can always cut corners elsewhere and you don't want to say in five years 'i wish i didn't get the whatever so that I could have a video now'

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
it's a must...equally important as photos!
i would really like to splurge on it and have it done by pennylane or motion pictures
but we'll see how the budget pans out
i think everyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bride should have video, even if its just a cheap one
i want to be able to relive the wedding over and over again for years and years and years! photos just don't do that!
