Whats everyone's stance on this? Is it a place to splurge or to save? Do you feel like you'll watch the video over and over?
We booked our video through our photography and LOVE their photography work! However, their videography isnt as cinematographic (if thats a word ha ha) as I would like. Perhaps that will change over the next year.
Then again ... I knew I didnt want to spend $3k for video. Id love to hear others thoughts.

there is a small part of me that would like video but I know that FH and I will never watch the video (maybe once the first time we get it) and it would ultimately be a waste of over $1k that could be spent elsewhere.
My uncle is most likely going to be shooting video at the wedding anyways and making us a video (that's what he did for my brother's wedding and I thought his video was better than the one they paid for!)

ITA.. we are not getting it, I feel like we would only watch it when we first get it and maybe on a few anniversaries. If there is money left in the budget aferwards, then maybe we'll add it.

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
I wasn't in favor of it but FH was all about it from the start. I said that I would look into video and see what happens.
We chose not to do it through the photog and we went w/ a videographer. We are spending a little bit more then we said we would (like $200) but I am happy w/ the decision since we didnt set a very high buget for it anyway.
Best part is that he will incorporate our wedding video into it and since he is only coming to my house and not FH's while getting ready, he said any video taken at FH's house he will incorprate into the final video which is kinda cool.
It's all about choice though - lots of brides do it and lots of brides dont.

I added it despite my original plans of not having a video guy at all. We neogiated w/ the photographer to add Video for a very low price. You might want to just make sure you get the Raw Footage of everything so in case you don't like how the Video comes out, you can still give the DVD of Raw Footage to another company to edit later on.

I didn't really care whether or not I had one... It was important to my mother though so we're having one, but we just took the one included in Duet's package

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
We originally didnt want one. We figured we would never really watch the video and wanted to spend more on photos. Recently I saw someones video on here within and it really made me change my mind. I really wanted to capture people in motion and their emotions. thats just something pictures cant do

Re: How do you feel about ... Videography?
We decided not to hire one. The most important part of the day is the ceremony to us, so I have a family member videoing it for us. He's done this for several other family members and does a good job. So that's the way we are going to go to save money and still have the moment captured. Not looking for anything fancy, just us.
