Re: How do you Know???
I would look into 'off' season months like Jan-March and sometimes even December. Prices are much lower!

Re: How do you Know???
I got married at the Coral House for 79PP but 69 PP in the off season and this includes grat. It gets mixed reviews on here but we have been gettigng compliments on how cozy and warm the place felt and everybody ate the food. Plus the people go above and beyond.
Also if you use the house florist for your personal flowers you get a dozen roses for your centerpeices no matter how many tables.
Definitely check out the Manor East . They are in your price range for a Saturday wedding.

Re: How do you Know???
FM me your email address I have a Reception cost analysis spreadsheet which will tell you cost per head x # of guests and the total cost of the reception, at least you can look at that.
You also need to call the vendors and speak with them. Go for a month where it is off-season - December through April are generally considered off'season ...
January through March usually offering the steepest discounts.

No, it's possible on LI. Really it is. Mine is.
How many people are you having? What areas are you looking in, is there anything you definitely don't want your hall to be like?
The best way to find out before you go is to ask here. There are a few posts on the subject, but if you have a palce in mind ask, someone here has probably looked at it
Good luck!

Re: How do you Know???
I agree with checking out the off-season months. My wedding is on a Saturday night in January and is definitely in your price range. However, my same wedding in say June or October would be like 40% more...FOR THE SAME WEDDING! (And this way I still get the decorations from the holidays!) If you are willing to be open to off months then you can definitely find something on Long Island. Good Luck!

Re: How do you Know???
If you can line it up properly, it'll give you what the reception would cost
Price per head X # of guests (including tax & tip)

Tell them you have a budget...tell them it is less than it really is & then see what they have in the off months or even on aholiday..... I know a girl ho got married ON the 4th of July & paid 1/2 price at the Crescent Beach Club!

Re: How do you Know???
Pick up one of the reception location magazines in the bridal section of a newstand - they will have a general price range for each catering hall listed. When you call the halls, ask them their price range so you don't waste your time or worse, fall in love with a place outside of your price range. Since you are flexible about the time of year, you should be able to find something very nice.
Places to check: Leonards of Great Neck Meadow Club in Port Jeff Manor East Stewart Manor Country Club

Re: How do you Know???
they'll tell you the rates & they will ask when you are considering, you can say we are open right now. . and if they just give a flat rate, say, are there any discounts for off peak months.
Anyway, I booked mien in Dec 2003, so it amy have gone up, but for a saturday night in October, it is $65/person I think. With tax & gratuity it is $81.
The Carriage House is small though. the max is 120. I am haveing somewhere between 75-95, it think. Some people think it's too country or don't like the CH being in the same room as the dinner, but it works for us.
You could try the GW manor- same owners as Milleridge, so prices should be similar, but I'm not sure. They have 2 weddings at a time I think, if that matters to you.
I think the Stewart Manor Country Club might also be in your range.

Re: How do you Know???
I told them flat out after they gave us a price, sorry we cant afford that or even before that we were on a budget....the price differences is due to time of year and then time of day...Sunday morning is cheapest, then Sunday night, Then Saturday day, then Friday night, then Saturday night( as far as weekends go) So you will pay more for a Saturday night....to stay in your price range ( which was mine as welll) you have to go with Jan-March....December may be more too because of the Holiday's..its more popular then you'd think... My recomendations seem to be everyone elses's You can get those prices ( $65) at : Manor East Stewart Manor CC Coral House Meadow Club( maybe..they were low though) Watermill-In jan/feb/early march
Good luck!!!
Also keep in mind that the tax and gratuity is added...for example we are paying $69 per head...after tax and gratuity $84.50...thats a big difference in PP prices....
