I wrote out a check. I am sure they will accept anything, but I am not sure about credit.

We left a deposit with credit card and all the rest of the payments we mailed with a check.

Thats a good way to save a bit, but how can you prove you paid cash?? That would worry me
I had planned on throwing alot on the CC and get some cash back $$

They gave me a receipt for my cash.

We decided on Leonard's.
I'm sure if you pay cash they have to provide you with a reciept. That would be proof of payment...

No tax at all. Not sure if every RH/vendor will do this, but it is always worth asking.
A word of advice - ask in person. I asked over the phone because other LE brides told me about the no tax thing on LIW, and my BM started like talking in code to me over the phone it felt like.

WE LEFT THE DEPOSIT IN CASH AND PAID THE BALANCE BY CHECK.

Most halls will NOT do this. It's not legal. They're supposed to be charging and paying taxes on all money they receive - even if it is cash. Cash is just easier to hide.
Many of the smaller vendors will - some halls will tell you to give the 'service charge' in cash so you don't pay tax on it... it's not legal, though.

i left my deposit in a check and every payment in checks too. DH was paranoid and always wanted the cancelled check as proof as well as the receipt.
