How do you prevent this? WITH UPDATE

So a girl at my new job got married this past weekend and someone that didnt go asked another girl that went how the wedding was and she replied 'eh, it was a wedding'

I dont want that to happen and I'm sure no one else....that just made me sad hahaha.

How do we make that not happen?

That is something I will definetly NOT be saying after my wedding... I have waited for this day for 6 years and I know it will be fabulous, even if we have some screw ups, nothing will ruin my day!

seriously there will always be someone who is doom and gloom, there is no wedding that all the guests will love!!!!! I know it is scary and I don't want any of my guests saying that, but it is not about them, it's about you and FH!!!!!

right after our wedding i was worried the some ppl thought this...even though from my point of view it was the most amazing day ever! but then i realized...screw what some people may say....it was a BEAUTIFUL AMAZING day for DH and our family and friends that matter!! i gotta stop caring what other people think.

maybe they didn't wait to make the non-invited person feel bad?

yea is the person who said that not dating and not married? I mean I personally have thought this to myself that some weddings you can consider them cookie cutter and I don't want people to think that about mine, I think if you try and work your individuality/ personality into it your day it prevents people from thinking that.

Well since a guest said this I would think one of two things, they are just a miserable person or they don't care too much for the newlyweds.

I agree. Either they aren't that close with the bride and groom and didn't make the great time of it.
You provide them with a great atmosphere, food, drinks, and party music. When people dont have a good time, it's their own fault!

Don't invite morons who don't care enough about you to realize that the most important thing is that you and FH LOVE each other and you are uniting your lives. Even if it's a backyard BBQ, there is nothing 'eh' about that!!!!!!

i refuse to stress it, at the end of the day
people will get out of the day what they put in.

i know people who are coming, who i am not close with (FH's extended family) they are debbie downers and I know that it's exactly what they will say 'eh a wedding'

On the other hand, i have girlfriends who are SO EXCITED to be celebrating with me and they will party with me and walk away loving the night, if only because they know the night was special to me

So as all as everyone leaves a decent gift, I dont care

No matter what, people will always have opinions. Some will be good, while others may be not so good.

But, you know what they say about opinions, right?
They're just like a**holes, everybody's got one

SOOOO...you just need to make the decisions that work best for you and your FH...at the end of the day, it's about the two of you, your celebration, and the beginning of your life together.

Let everyone think what they want, as long as you feel like your wedding was everything you wanted it to be, screw what everyone else says!

This being said, good food and good music are definitely integral components

my motto is you cant please everyone as long as its what the bride dreamed of who cares what everyone else thinks!
