Re: Jennbaby

I quited Down bc personally people who don't know me and want to tell me off on a computer screen is fine in my book. Plus its earnings quarter and it does get busy at work! :)
I am not here for your approval or anyone elses.
If you knew me bully would be the last word you would ever use to describe me.
Hit Home. Never. U have no idea who I am and what I am about and if people are offended bc I had an incident with someone in my inlaws backyard and with her attitude and appearence I felt she should be told. Maybe you didn't.
But I have sat in SHOCK. I know alot of people and have been exposed to many as well and I have never heard of so many people in my life that NEVER made fun. I wasn't even making fun.

Statement was... SUTIABLE!

wow.. this thread went in a TOTALLY dif direction..

I know the whole story behind this girl and her whole 2 piece thing, which has NOTHING to do with her weight. When you just don't like someone, everything that person says and does, regardless of whether or not it's right orwrong, you're going to dislike..

T, perhaps you should have told everyone the basis of why you posted this?

and no need to get caddy here either..

I feel for suzanne and others who've made some fantastic points, but there are some, for ex. denise, who shouldn't go below the belt.

Re: Jennbaby

Theresa, I don't think anyone on here is claiming that they have never made fun of people before. I would hope for most of us we got passed that, but as Shamma said on a previous response, we all may talk about people and than realize what we are doing and try to stop.

If something else happened with this woman you did not mention that. The only thing you mentioned was going up to her and telling her she is too fat for a certain outfit, and I am sorry no matter how you look at it that is wrong.

You always say you will not post pictures on here b/c when you did people made comments about you. I don't understand how you do not see that what you are claiming is an o.k. thing to do is exactly what you were upset/hurt/mad about when it was done to you.

And you are right, most of us don't know you personally, and maybe if we did we would know if you were or were not a bully, but I am sorry a lot of your posts come off that way, whether you mean them to or not they do.

You also have to remember that as you have the right to post on here so do the rest of the members. If you do not agree with something you speak out, expect the rest of us to have the same freedom. The rules can't change every time you do not like what is being said to you, or because people do not agree with you.

Re: Jennbaby

Marcella - I understand what you are trying to say:

but read Theresa's answers

Example: I mean she is a good 230 and she has no place wearing it.........

It is obviously about weight!

But T goes below the belt all the time. How come that is right?

Re: Jennbaby

I agree with Marcella. Maybe if we all knew the story behind the post, we would have reacted differently. The way it was posted came across as Theresa not liking this girl's body/bathing suit and wanting to tell her so. Naturally, that's not a very nice thing to do, so everybody got their panties in a twist.

But if this girl was behaving in a way that was hurtful to T, or is otherwise a nasty person in general, then I can see why T felt like lashing out at her.

We've ALL felt like being nasty to someone who has hurt our feelings. Most of us don't act on it but we've ALL had those vengeful thoughts.

But anyway.....WHATEVER already. Life's too short for this cr*p.

GROUP HUG!!

Re: Jennbaby

And one more thing. Theresa, if you are so sure you are right about this and she is deserving of it, then why did you even bother posting this and just tell her???????????

No one here knows (and frankly, probably doesn't care) what she has done to you, so we just went when we read your post. Not that it matters what she did to you because you could be a bigger person and just ignore her, even if she is your MIL!

And one more thing, if this is your MIL, maybe you could try respecting her because she did give birth to the man you are marrying......

Re: Jennbaby

perhaps I didn't phrase it correctly.

when you DON'T like someone, you're going to find every excuse to mock EVERYTHING about that person, are you not?

Re: Jennbaby

Marcella,

Unfortunately, that's true. When you don't like someone to begin with, it gets all too easy to just pick them apart for every little thing. It's not right, but it's part of being human.

We can realize we're doing it, like Shamma said, and stop ourselves. But it's hard to have warm & fuzzy feelings toward someone you don't like.

I guess that's where we are challenged to make a choice. Do we stoop to their level and act out? Or do we try to rise above it and just try to ignore them. It's not always an easy choice to make.

Re: Jennbaby

Maybe we should make a commitment to try and not to have negative post such as this on the board. It would really be helpful if everyone thought before they wrote (of the impact that it might have on others.)

Some issues really can be very hurtful to some people - sometimes we forget that we can hurt others more with OUR WORDS than our fists.

Marcella and KMCWED :
I understand your points. It is not right but it does happen. The issue started with not just talking about someone but how to confront someone with these comments. I think what you both mean is that people may talk about people they do not like, but do they confront them with the trivial things?

Marcella - one of my points all along on this is that Theresa is the first one to cry foul if someone says something about her she does not like (or she even thinks it was about her). There have been numerous threads about that. If she is so willing to do this to other people, how can she complain when it is done to her? How can she expect the same people who stick up for her when it happens to her, to not stick up for other people. That is a complete double standard!!

Re: Jennbaby

Ladies...please...let's not discuss this anymore!
This thread is stirring up bad memories for some, unkind words for others, anger....
No good can come of this!!!
In my world (and I live in my own universe most of the time )..we all see each other for WHO we are, not what we appear to be. Minds and hearts are open and no mean spirited words are said.
Can we move past this? Please??

I agree with you Michele 31. It's not anyone's business at all. More power to them. Everyone is beautiful in their own way - no matter what they wear. People should look in the mirror and focus on themselves.
