What was your deciding factor on the hotel you blocked? Was it the cheapest rate? Did you go by the look of the room? All the hotels for our hall are around the same distance (15-20minutes) so I don’t know what to go by.

Re: How Do/Did you decide on the hotel to block?
We wanted the nicest place for our guests to stay that was also in a decent proximity to the RH and of course was a great price. We found that all luckily @ Danfords!

We chose ours based on rate, the fact that they had a shuttle available if we need it, breakfast/brunch options for the morning after, and a bar in case anyone wants to hang out after the wedding.

All the hotels have a brunch which I'm very interested in doing, but I will probably go for the cheapest option just b/c I feel bad asking people to pay alot of money for a hotel when they're my guests.

the bar thing i was looking into as well but my wedding ends at 1am and the latest the bars were open was 2am and by the time we all got back to the hotel it wouldn’t matter so I kinda ruled that out as a factor. As for shuttle service I have yet to find a hotel that offers it free grrrr.

I went with the one that was right next door to the RH, this way people don't have to go very far. The hotel actually has a conjoining parking lot with the RH and the hotel will keep the bar open for us

Re: How Do/Did you decide on the hotel to block?
Several factors:
1. We needed a bar to stay open past 1 am ( wedding ends at midnight)
2. We needed it to be in between the church and RH
3. We needed to block a LARGE block of rooms since we have so many OOT guest.
4. We didn't qualify for the free shuttle because of the large number of guests. Most free shuttles only cary 11-14 people at a time.
5. We didn't want to be responsible for any rooms in the block that weren't taken.
6. As far as price goes, once we got one price we shopped around and let everyone know the lowest price we got. They all matched it.

I think I'm going to look at both the reg rooms and where we would stay..
even though I think I might just get a suite the night before for me to get ready in, and possibly a different hotel for the night of--
i was just in texas for my cousins wedding, and i stayed at the hotel she reserved, and it was family everywherreeee..idk if i want to wake up the morning after the wedding and be swarmed by family lol

i woulda did the same thing but none were that close, i think thats why im having the issue. i've gotten prices from $99, $119, $159'ish, $179'ish
are these even reasonable? 179 sounds high to me

Do you have a lot of OOT guests? Can you book 2 hotels? One at the $99 price and the other slightly more expensive this way your guests have a choice.

Re: How Do/Did you decide on the hotel to block?
We chose based on how close the hotel was to the hall, and the amenities available. Even though its $30 more a night than another hotel we were looking at, the fact that the hotel we chose has a kitchen in it and a full breakfast buffet daily, evening buffet Sun through Thursday, helps with that, cause we have people with kids coming, and its cheaper to get the hotel and cook than it would be to stay in another hotel and have to go out to eat

Re: How Do/Did you decide on the hotel to block?
The two things that were important to me were the appearance of the rooms and the rate.
