how does everyone plan on

keeping bank accounts with FH after you are married? I've been asking around to see what other people are doing as far as joint or separate accounts. I still don't know what we should do.

i will always have my own accounts and so will he and they we will have a joint.
i dont want him to see what i spend on my clothes.lol

We've had ours joined since we got engaged...a savings/checking and I also have a 3rd savings account (just b/c I always had that acct).

I handle all the bills though

we'll have a joint checking and probably will merge our ING savings accounts. not sure if we'll have our own as well since 4 accounts seems excessive

When we moved in together we made all of our accounts joint... joint savings, joint checking, joint credit cards.

We have joint credit cards, but we never use them.

We have a joint savings account, but I'm the only one that makes deposits and then we have our own accounts. I think we'll keep our own accounts. We're both used to doing things our way. We also have business accounts that will remain solely in our names (as it was when we were single). I don't see a need to make things joint as long as all the bills get paid.

ours is used for mortgage, food and bills- we both put a certain amount in each month...what we usually do is if we over draw, we will split the over draw amount if it gets to that

i agree 100%
i dont see the point joiing avccounts if things work out OK as they were when you were dating..esp since we are both working and making almost he same amount of $
..i guess if i was dependant on him or vice versa we would need to join it, but we both make the ame amount of $ and this way i dont have to justify a fancy bag or a $30 lip gloss if i really want it...he never asks me about my shopping

eta- it just gives us one less thing to fight about too

Everything will be ours.. Right now we each still have our own checking -- only because we are too lazy right now to switch the direct deposits..
It will be done after the wedding.

FH and i have had joint savings and another joint checking for a while now -- before we were engaged..

Probably the same as it is now..we both have our own savings/checking and we have joint savings and checking.
