Re: how does the make-up trials work?

If you're getting married next June, you might want to start setting up some trials pretty soon. All the wedding magazines say that this is something to take care of a few months before the wedding, but it seems like in NYC/LI, makeup artists book up very quickly. I'm getting married in July and I called people in August who were already booked. If makeup is important to you and you want to get your 'top choice,' it might be a good idea to get it out of the way.

As for cost, it really varies hugely. I've paid $0, $40, $75, all the way up to $125 just for a trial. As for day-of makeup, I've received quotes from $150-350 just for the bride. Good luck with your search!

Re: how does the make-up trials work?

my hair and makeup lady was Sachiko of Bellegente. i loved the work she did on me and my 3 gals. my bm liked it so much she used sachiko for her own wedding last september. for my wedding i had 2 do's only becasue i had two diff wedding dates (long story). one down do and the other a low bun do with a rhinestone brooch pinned on the side of the bun. wish i had pictures to share but it's much too big and cannot be sent.
she offers free trials so you should def call her as soon as you get the chance for she gets booked very quickly. i payed $500 for 4 gals for 5hrs. she can even go to you during your the day of your wedding which is PERFECT! cuz you'll need all the rest you can get.

Re: how does the make-up trials work?

I have 3 make up trials scheduled for November. I think you have some time since you are 2 months after me, but I think you should schedule some now for December or January.

Re: how does the make-up trials work?

I am getting married in May and am having my trials this month. I had one last week, one tomorrow, and one at the end of the month. It feels early but better early than late!
