How early is too early???

Original post by Mrs A in May

OK, so we've been looking around for limos and one place really turned me off. I called to make an appointment to see their party bus and the guy gave me a really hard time about coming so far in advance from the wedding. I know most places only have about 2 buses and I wanted to make sure to get one before it books up. He just kept insisting that the cars could change in the next year and he doesn't understand why we want to come now. It made me feel really uncomfortable and embarrassed!!!
And anyway, WHY would you talk someone out of giving you business?????
So my question is: IS this too early? Our wedding is 5/9/08. Thanks.

Danielle

PS - No other limo place said a peep about it being too early.

That's a good point a bunch of you girl made about how prices go up! They are probably trying to discourage me from booking now so they can get more money out of me. I am going to go with my gut and not book with them.
Also, a woman from the company left me a message yesterday and said that we cannot come in and look at the cars this week bc she will be out ill. I mean, is she the ONLY person there to show the cars???

We've had a short engagement, and were turned off by vendors who told us the opposite 'why did you wait so long to call? you're really late on this...' Uh, we just got engaged, people.

If a place wants your business, they wouldn't give you the 'you're too early' bs. I'd go elsewhere, unless you had your heart set on that particular company.

me too!

I still haven't even looked at a limo yet!!!

I have over a year and a half before my wedding and all my vendors are already booked. Don't let anyone tell you it is too early. The only reason they wouldnt want you to book this early is because they are too disorganized to keep track of everything... which means you wouldnt want to do business with them anyway.

I booked my party bus a year out to my wedding because we are getting married during prom season. No one questioned me booking so early.
