how far before the wedding do you order favors... bc?..?

because ... well we dont know the rsvp numbers till closer to teh wedding..so i dont want to over order and waste money.
so how far or close to the wedding date are you ordering yours?? ty!!

I put in my order for what I wanted 3 months before and gave her the final count the month before--we did chocolate favors!

i ordered a few months before and guessed with the #... i ended up over ordering, but we got the lancearmstrong bracelets, so i didnt mind because the money was going to a good cause...

it really depends on your favor, remember you may need time to wrap, put a ribbon on, etc. i'm doing mine over the summer, 100 guests max, 1 per guest,we ordered 110, they are mugs that we will put hot chocolate mix and marshmallows in (we'll wait till the last week or so for the marshmallows)

my wedding is 8-20-06 i placed my order about 2 weeks ago.. i did order extra favors dont wait ... because it will be just more for you to.. and di feel like i waited for the last min.

Good point! We ordered us way early (7 months) and had way too many extra but it's all good....it was a process putting them together (they were martini glasses with organza bags filled with almonds...but had put a note on the bags and wrapped the glasses in tulle with ribbon, etc., etc.).

my wedding is 7/16 and I ordered my favors in the beginning of June when I knew how many to order.

I just picked them up and have 16 days to wrap them - plenty of time (I HOPE!!)

I'm getting married a few weeks before you, and we're going to order ours towards the end of July/start of August.
