how far do you/will you be living from...

your parents. We just made an offer on a house today and it's 30 min away from my family. I feel sad about leaving and not even being in the same neighborhood anymore. Anyone else feel this way?

my FH's house is about 30 minutes from my parents house...its not a bad drive. Fh lives in Long Beach and my parents live in Deer Park.

i left home at 18 to live with fh...then about 7 years ago we moved to south jersey mom lives in nyc and my dad in P.R. my mom is baout 1:30 away...his parents are also in nyc

The distance is not as bad as it seems.
FH and I live in his town in Nassau, 45 minutes from my parents in Bay Shore.

As long as I can hop on a highway or onto Ocean Pkwy, I'm happy. It's never more than 45 minutes.
It was sad for me at first, but it ended up being nothing.

Although, I do get sad sometimes that FH gets to see his family every day and me not so much!!
You have to make sure your family with work with you to take turns visiting

We live in Florida. FH moved here w/ an ex about 5 yrs. ago. We live across the street from my mom now. We're moving to LI (NY) in 2007. So, for the 1st time I'll be so far away from my mom. But, we'll be close to his family. So, we'll see how long it takes my mom to move

FH lives about 1/2 hour away from my house now and thats where we are planning on living after the wedding. I hope we can find something a little closer to my family before then cause I would like to stay in this area and be closer to everyone.

the house we just bought is about 25 minutes away from my house & about 10 minutes from FH's family.

Right now FH has a house in Smithtown....I grew up there but my mom must recently moved to Florida so she's about a 2.5 hour plane ride...not to bad...

My dad lives in Massapequa so we're about 35 minutes from him and FH's parents live in North babylon...so about 20 minutes.

We're looking to move in about 2-3 years but will probably stay on LI.

ummmmmmm, a LONG way from them.....and my entire family! They all live in Canada. I moved down here to be with FH. It's hard especially around the holidays......but my FH makes it better for me......I get two Thanksgivings.....the Canadian one and the US one

And at Christmas time, my family hooks up the web cam in the front room of my parents house and I go to FH's parents house and watch on the computer. It's great!!!! THat way, we get to spend Christmas with both families

we bought a house approx 45 minutes from our parents -

we wanted to live in suffolk, we got more house and land for our $$$$. but FSIL lives 15 minutes east of us, so its not so bad. its close enough to go to sunday dinner at our parents, but far enough away they wont just drop by

After the wedding we'll be living in california!

Both of our parents live in NY (about 3 miles away from one another!)... so we'll be a six hour flight away.

My dad will only be about a half hour away, FHs parents retired and are in SC getting ready to move to FL

I am 400 miles away from my parents. I moved to VA to be with FH @ 1.5 years ago. It is really difficult being away from my own parents and family.........I miss them terribly at times But, we are only 35 miles from his mom and stepdad who are like a second set of parents to me.

my parents are about an hour and 15 minutes from me...but they have a little summerhouse a mile down the road from us, so i see them alot on weekends when they come out. I also stay at their house in Nassau county most Tues nites when I take my Taekwondo classes...don't really miss living with them cause I see them alot! I think it actually makes the relationship stronger because my Dad has less time to nag & aggrivate me...hahaha
