how far from the ceremony is the reception?

how far from the ceremony is the reception?

just curious because i see people comparing halls that are opposite sides of the island and i wonder what is the average for the distance u are having your guests travel from the ceremony to the reception..

my ceremony is in westbury and my reception is in Woodbury.. i looked at CLM and liked it but felt it was too far from Westbury for folks to have to drive.

my fiances best friend got married in Brooklyn and had their reception in Astoria.. she (best friends wife) just told us folks RSVP'd yes but didn't go to the reception, I told fh that it's prob cause it was too darn far...

but what is far for me is normal for others.. so what's your distance?

see that doesn't sound far.. but are u worried bout traffic? that belt parkway can be a beast..

i have a coworker who lives in bayridge all the way at the TIP of brooklyn.. that's where her wedding will be.. her reception is at the Sands atlantic beach.. see now something like that, i know i'd only make it to the reception.. not trooping up and down the belt parkway..

i have anotehr girlfriend who got married in south ozone park and had the reception in franklin square..(sand castle) she lost a lot of folk along the way also.. most of our other coworkers only went to the reception.. said it was too far from the church to do both..

i guess u can't accomodate everyone..

My ceremony is in Old Westbury and rh is in Mineola. They're about 15 mins away from one another. I understand what you're saying about distance from one place to another but I don't think that would stop everyone from attending.

a couple blocks

If I wasn't wearing a giant ivory poof, I'd walk it!

I know what you mean I live about 100 ft from the church. I would've walked if I was getting dressed at home.

I'm walking home from my reception...it's only a couple of blocks from my apartment...

My ceremony is in Coney Island and the reception is in Williamsburg...about a 30 minute drive with NO traffic...

However, if there is an accident or just regular old volume, it can take much, much longer...

The two things I am praying for on my wedding day are sunshine and no traffic!

my Church was in Westbury and the reception was in Mineola...literally a 5 min drive.

we had alot of OOT guests from different countries so we couldnt expect them to have to rent a car to drive out east.
