just curious because i see people comparing halls that are opposite sides of the island and i wonder what is the average for the distance u are having your guests travel from the ceremony to the reception..
my ceremony is in westbury and my reception is in Woodbury.. i looked at CLM and liked it but felt it was too far from Westbury for folks to have to drive.
my fiances best friend got married in Brooklyn and had their reception in Astoria.. she (best friends wife) just told us folks RSVP'd yes but didn't go to the reception, I told fh that it's prob cause it was too darn far...
but what is far for me is normal for others.. so what's your distance?

my Church was in Westbury and the reception was in Mineola...literally a 5 min drive.
we had alot of OOT guests from different countries so we couldnt expect them to have to rent a car to drive out east.
yes this is an issue of ours.. not out of the country but out of town..

My church is in Garden City and our reception will be in Woodbury. It is about 25 minutes away. We are getting married in January, so I hope the weather will be alright.

30 minute apart, but they have 3 & 1/2 hours to get there so it'll be fine.

ours was about 40 minutes Smithtown to Wading River 4th of July weekend- there was no traffic though
many OOT guests coming from CT... NYC/Queens/etc...

Mine is pretty far..ceremony in Staten Island and reception in Mineola..so here's hoping for no traffic on the Belt Parkway in the summer! There are a few hours in between so I hope no one will complain too much

my church is in patchogue and the reception is in cutchogue. it's pretty far. my mom says that 'they will travel' meaning it's your wedding and people will travel. it's your wedding!
