Hey girls...how far in advance to you plan on looking into BM dresses? I know i'm getting ahead of myself but most of my bridesmaids are out of country so I need to leave plenty of time to ship it to them and for them to get alterations.

i started looking myself to get ideas already- but I will start looking with the girls a year in advance. I want everyone to have enough time so they have the money for them rather then waiting for the last minute to spring it on them.

I've actually already picked out my BM dresses although we havent bought anything yet. One of my BM saw the brand on the Tyra Banks show and we just looked into it from there.
I don't plan on having them buy anything until I get my dress first

I'm just browing styles right now to get an idea of what I want. I will most likely have the girls order their dresses when I go to order my dress a year out because the boutique I am going to gives a discount on my dress and their if we all order from them.

I already ordered my dress at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I know the BR in Massapequa offered me a discount if I get them all from there so maybe in December I'll just go ahead and pick one out and tell the girls to call up and order them. I just dont want to have them order and then I change my mind. I keep going back and forth from using dark silver and soft whites as wedding colors and goldish and ivory tones for winter wedding.

I'm getting married in October and we went BM dress shopping in March and they came in August. So they took 5 months to come in. It also depends on the maker of the dress.

I really have no idea what type of a dress i want them to wear so i started looking at styles already. Also some of my bridesmaids are out of town so i want to give them plenty of time to get thier stuff together

I'll probably start looking a year in advance. You never know what will change and if someone is trying to lose weight or whatever - depending on the type of dress you can only alter them so much.

I found a few I liked & there's one that I really love so I'm just hoping it doesn't get discontinued but probably will order them about 9 months before or at least start seriously looking a little before that.
