How far in advance are you waxing your brows before your big day?

My skin is sooo sensitive. I think I'll have to do it like a week before. I get little red bumps.

good question! well, i get my eyebrows threaded and they seem to last me about 2-3 weeks.

since i am having the bach party the week b4 the wedding i think i am going to get them done 2 weeks b4 the bach party and then a few days b4 the wedding so that i dont look like wolverine on my hm...

Where in Oceanside do you go to? I live very close to their and my FIL's live there so I was thinking Frasada. Is that it?

Youre not supposed to get red bumps...its common for your brows to be slightly red and swollen right after waxing but if your getting bumps then its probably due to the fact that they are using the same wooden wand over and over again on different people and then dipping it into the same wax which would cause irritation and redness. Just a thought. Have you tried using someone else?


ETA: Since you have sensitive skin i wouldnt wax, i would get them plucked/tweezed or threaded. Besides constantly waxing your brows will eventually give you wrinkles and saggy skin above your eyes due to the pulling.

The red bumps are common for someone with sensitive skin. If you ask your esthetician to use a new stick, chances are you STILL will get the bumps.

well I get the same thing from waxing.. so I am doing threading before the wedding

All of you please take this advice and thread your eyebrows instead of waxing. I don't think there is anyone that doesn't break out from waxing, but with threading you don't have to worry. You can do them the morning of if you wanted to and nothing....

I actually had the same reaction when I got it done at my aunt's salon (two days before a friends wedding!!) She looked at it and said that my skin is sensitive and that from now on they would have to use a cooling gel rather than the cream. That's helps to avoid the red bumps and such. HTH
