lol... i was the abnormal - i found my dress 6 months before he proposed & ordered it about 2 weeks after we got engaged!!!

I started looking about 2 months after I got engaged and ordered it about 11 months before my wedding! A couple of places to go look:
Bridal Reflections in Massapequa - that's where I am getting mine Macys Bridal Salon in Manhasset Bridal Suite of Bayshore Lillette's in Baldwin is popular on this site too!

I got mine 7months before at Blanches in East Rockaway. They have a nice selection of gowns and are super accomodating

started looking about 11 months prior to our wedding date...and found it and orderered it about 9 months before.
Check out RK Bridal, Bridal Suite in Centereach and Patchogue and Paradise Bridal also in Patchogue...

I found my dress in a magazine and then went to David's Bridal to try it on. It was the first dress I tried on. I went to a few other stores to look at some more dresses to be sure and then went back for my first one.

I found my dress on Watters&Watters.com ordered they catalogues, and went to store to try it on and ordered it last summer in August. My wedding is on May 30th

I found my dress like a year before the wedding but my father insisted at the time that I didn't buy it. He kept saying that as new styles came out I would not want my dress. Well I waited and still ended up getting the same dress about 6 months before the wedding.

I ordered my dress in June and my wedding was in October, but I was cutting it close! I think about 8 months is a safe amount of time.

We only had a 9 month engagement, so I had to look right away. I ordered my gown in early December, and it arrived the first week of June. Our wedding was in August.

I started looking 2 weeks after we got engaged. I ordered mine a month after. I got it from Bridal Suite in Centereach. I HIGHLY recommend them.

I agree kptoys....I would definitely recommend Centereach Bridal Suite. They are awesome there!!

well i'm finally going this weekend, six months after getting engaged and only 7 months til the wedding. i know i'm cutting it close, but oh well. that's just the way things worked out. i'm planning to go to the bridal suite in centereach (thanks to all the recommendations here) and macy's in smithhaven.
