How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
I have been shopping around for prices for my honeymoon. But everyone tells me I'm too early for 2003 rates. I am getting married June. I also been told the early you book the better the rates you get.

So I should wait for about 6 months before the wedding?

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
We booked ours about a year in advance. You will probably save on the hotels but it's hit or miss with airlines. The fares go up and down so much, theres no way to know when you can get the lowest fares.Quick tip... when booking hotels far in advance, call them to see if they have any major renovations planned for about when you will be there. You don't want to worry about something like that annoying you on your honeymoon.

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
I was told that I can't book hotels yet bc the rates they have right now are only for 2002 so they can't give me prices yet.

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
We ended up booking about 10 months in advance because we wanted to make sure that we got an ocean front room --- we weren't planning on booking that far in advance, but when we were working with the travel agent in January, she said that there already weren't that many oceanfront rooms available, so we bit the bullet and made the reservation

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
We booked a little under a year in advance as we used our sky miles for first class round trip. (there are only a certain number of seats allotted for frequent fliers so you have to be quick about calling for it and you can only beginning calling 325 days in advance of teh date you want to travel). The time frame varies slightly for each airline though.

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
I am getting married Apr. 2003, and we have had our honeymoon booked for about a month. We booked a cruise and got a great deal, and if anyhing better deal wise comes up, up till then, we still get the money taken off. As for airfare, JetBlue changed their booking time, so Aug. 1 we can book for Apr-May 2003. So it's really not that far in advance!

I am booking my July 2003 Carnival cruise in August. I won't be able to get airfare for another couple of months.

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
JuneBride21...I am having the same dilemma! We're getting married July 6, 2003 and I wanted to get the best deals by booking early, but so many places are telling me we can't! Very frustrating.
And the airline thing is a pain too, especially not knowing which airlines' financial difficulties will screw up their schedules a year from now. All our ff miles are on USAir and that has me nervous...of course, we haven't booked anything yet, anyway, and may not even have enough points. But keep me posted...our timeframe is so similar, I'll be interested in hearing what you are able to do and when. Where are you going, btw? Alison

We booked April for July, I would have done it earlier, but found out about a sale, and waited.

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
I was told to book 6 months before. The 2003 rates aren't available yet and plus shop around, you'd be surprised how deals come along.

Re: How far in advance do you plan/book your honeymoon?
We booked our cruise about 10 months in advance, and were able to get airfares at that time as well. We decided to book our own airfare through cheap tickets, and got a much better price rather than going thru the Carnival for airfare...good luck with it.Welcome New Vendors
