How far in advance is everyone sending out invites?
I was thinking about my invites and I was planning on having my shower in the middle of July but if I send out invites in the middle of July it seems kinda silly to have both invites out at the same time.
Should I send out the wedding invites 6 weeks ahead or is 8 weeks better?
If I send it out 8 weeks in advance I will have to have the shower in the middle of June which is 3 months before the wedding.
What do you think???

I'm sending them out May 1st which is exactly 3 months.
I don't think it would be an issue to have both invites out. Last year I got a wedding invite before I got the shower invite.

If you have a lot of OOT guests, or a B list, I would do 8 weeks. I'm sending out my invites 9/1 (hopefully), with an RSVP date of 11/1, because I have so many OOT, a B list, AND my RH requires everything finalized like 3 weeks before the wedding, so I need that extra time.

it depends- do you have an A and a B list? we do so we are sending them out about 8 weeks in advance to allow for enough time for us to send out the 'B' list invites...

Im sending mine out April 19th and the RSVP date is June 19th.

I dont have a B list all are going out at the same time.
I just think it would be funny to have the wedding invites out before the shower invites.
Is it just me???

I'm sending mine 2 and a half months before. My RSVP date is 5 weeks before the wedding which should be plenty for the late responders to get their act together.

i sent mine exactly 2 months before the wedding and the response date was 1 month before
i looked it up in an etiquette book of what to do

That sounds about right. We have similar timelines.
My shower is 6/27. I am sending my invites out on 7/6. I will then send out shower 'thank you's' the 13th...will help nudge people to rsvp.
My rsvp date is 8/10, a month and change before the wedding.

I would give it more than 6 weeks because people wont respnd -always those late brids- and you will have to chase them down to an answer to give the RH a final head count

I'll be mailing my invites about 8 weeks in advance (early July). I have no idea when my shower invites will go out b/c that's a surprise (at least for now!) for me.
