How far in advance is everyone sending out invites?

I was thinking about my invites and I was planning on having my shower in the middle of July but if I send out invites in the middle of July it seems kinda silly to have both invites out at the same time.

Should I send out the wedding invites 6 weeks ahead or is 8 weeks better?

If I send it out 8 weeks in advance I will have to have the shower in the middle of June which is 3 months before the wedding.

What do you think???

maybe its just me but this makes no sense to me at all? if your wedding is in sept and you want to have your shower in july, how would your invitations be going out at the same time? your shower invites will go out sometime in may, long before your wedding invites

my shower is july 19th so invites will be mailed out about 3 weeks before and im sending out my wedding invites around july 1st so they will go out about a week apart
