How far in advance should i call halls to set up appts?
I live in FL, but will be having my wedding on Long Island next Aug'/Sept. I will be visiting during Labor Day week. Just wondering how much in advance I should set up my appts with hall vendors?

call now to set up appts. that way you'll be able to get in when you want. you don't want to come all the way up here and then you can't see anything!!

I'd call now - better safe than sorry! I called about a week before I visited and it was so obnoxious cause I couldn't get good spacing between visits because the exact times I had hoped to visit were booked (either not enought time to travel or way too much time).

Defintely call now and try to get as many as possible set up back-to-back. It gets overwhelming, but as an out of town bride, it was the only way.
I'd also recommend asking questions like minimum and maximum guests, availability, and $pp -- you'd be surprised how many places you'll be able to cross off your list.
