How has it changed?

How has it changed?

How has your life changed since you got engaged????

I don't mean relationship. Because of money we obviously do not go out nearly as much. Lately we have been finding different ways to have fun. We have people here a lot instead of going to the bar. I started a wine club so it's one less night I have to turn down my friends to go out. We made a pact to go out to a nice dinner once a month, and we promised eachother we would not miss going out for a friends bday b/c we thought that isnt fair. FH has been making nice dinners a lot and has been really trying hard so that I dont feel like I am giving up my whole life with this wedding. ALSO-- we cancelled his gym membership and he comes to plante fitness w/ me b/c you can bring a guest every time!!!! FREE!!!!We also decided to get the most for our money I am taking 6 classes (full time is all the same price) plus I want to finish asap so we can have kids soon after wedding. (we arent the type that want to wait and travel the world!) we already have a trip planned in 2014 with all my cousins and all the babies stay home with the gparents hehehe!!!

Sorry for ranting!!! Just was wondering how everyones life has changed b/c of the wedding.

Re: How has it changed?

For me personally, nothing has changed since being engaged. My whole life was already changed when my fh and i got serious. I was kind of a party girl. I was always at parties and bars. I knew everyone. I already feel like a stay at home mom and i don't even have kids. We have made alot of sacrifices for each other. I don't regret anything. He's the one i know i want to spend the rest of my life with. So I don't feel like i am giving up my youth early. It's just a huge adjustment.

The only thing that has really seemed to change is we don't go out as much. Like we aren't hermits, we do go out occassionally (FH more than me) but not like every single weekend like we used to. Gotta save that $$.

Other than the finance things nothing has really changed. We had been living together for several years so were pretty much already in the routine.

We go out a little less but not significantly. I feel it's more that we are making more and more decisions about everything wedding related and otherwise together. I feel that our commitment has deepen. Things in general haven't really changed.

we go out less and i shop less, but i haven't totally stopped doing those things. i do think i need to cut back more. i don't know what it is in my head, but i feel like i need to go out sometimes for my own sanity. i ask him if we could just go out for a drink and a quick bite, nothing too pricey. it just NEED it.

nothing really has changed that much.. well not yet at least.. we dont live together and we try to save more money but we opened up an account together and we both had direct deposit into it.. so we dont look at it we dont think of it hopefully that will add up and we will be ok..

We haven't changed but they way people look at us has. My parents are more relaxed and warm toward my FH since they now have concrete evidence how serious he is about me. Before the ring I think they were overprotective and afraid we'd date for year and years without getting married???

FH and I also work together so our coworkers and higher ups now know that we are very serious. Which also makes me a little more relaxed - FH is the first coworker I've dated and I guess I've always been paranoid as to what people think but they have been so supportive. Huge relief!

nothing has change too much. we have lived together for the past 2 years almost, so we got into the routine of saving monet for the mortgage and bills and still being able to go out... so we were comfortable in that respect, but now we but back going out to bars. We still go out but not as much. we still go out to dinner, jstu not as much. overall we are being smarter with our money. and praying for the best lol

We go out less-it hasn't completely stopped but we definetely cut back on eating out etc. Now we really only go out if a friends having something for their b-day or other type of event that we don't want to miss. We're both happy staying in and having a home cooked meal rather than spending a lot of money out at a restaurant. And we've cut back on clothing shopping. Planning trips etc.

Along with what all you other girls are saying, FH and I dont go out as much. Unfortunately, that hasn't really happened lately. FH and I talked about this this morning. He mentioned to me that we need to stop eating out as much. I'm totally fine with cooking!!! I love to cook, but he's kind of pushing the blame of it on me which is getting me a little mad. He always wants to go out to breakfast on the weekends and so on and so on.

So I made a suggestion to him, that we make a menu on Saturday morning of what were going to have for dinner, since that's the one meal that we really spend the most money on.

Unfortunately, we cant really start on Saturday since we're going out to dinner for Valentine's Day that night!

Sunday we will!!

Re: How has it changed?

FH and I don't live together - and we have a alittle bit of distance (Baldwin to Holtsville) and we only see each other on weekends. so we go out a lot, but we go out and do things we need to get done (run errands and such) - that way we spend time together. I think b/c of the distance its helped b/c during the week we dont spend money LOL

I think now we are just more aware of what we spend and on what - now we think a lot more before we make plans to go out to eat.
