I put my payment in the fist week of November, they send me a letter yesterday saying my account is past due. DUH you cashed the check. Now my mail and ride account is frozen and I have to buy next month's ticket at the station.

For me its the short trains that get to me....especially in the morning. Geeze...we are on the train standing for 25-30 minutes on top of eachother like sardines and then the conductor has the nerve to squeeze by and make everyone shuffle through their belongings looking for their ticket. Its a nightmare...if i dont get a seat and there is no air or lights....you dont get to see my ticket.
UGH!! I agree 100% Fh and I say this all the time. Has anyone attempted to complain? Did you get some type of a refund back? Or is this just wishful thinking on my part

Sorry, but I think it's totally wishful thinking. We pay for the ride, not the comfort (obviously )

Re: HOW I HATE THE LIRR
I guess I am lucky I missed the night where they overshot Brentwood. If I had to walk back to get out, I would have been screaming the whole way. I remember one morning when we missed the switch and we were heading towards Hunter's Point and we had to spend another half hour go in reverse and then getting back onto the track.
Better yet, anybody remember when 3 trains were stuck in the tunnel because one was trying to push the other who was trying to push the other???

Re: HOW I HATE THE LIRR
The best for me lately was halloween night, we get stuck at a signal crossing because there is a disablabled train ahead of us. After making us wait forever they say they are waiting for the tower to approve the paperwork for us to go in reverse and switch tracks, this goes on for another 20 minutes then they FINALLY tell us they could not reach the tower via the radio in the train and had to do so through cell phones and it took awhile. UGH

I was on that train!! ARGH!
I have only been riding since March and I have about as many complaints as you girls who have been riding the LIRR many years. Another big thing that bothers me is the riders and how rude they are leaving their papers, dirty napkins, cups, etc. in the train! Does someone else clean up after you at home too!!

Or the best is when they say switch to the illusive 'Channel 4' and the dimwad conductor does it wrong and the whole train hears some stupid mistake that was made.

Re: HOW I HATE THE LIRR
Get this one Last night our train was delayed for 'switching problems' one man started saying something to the ticket guy about the poor service. The ticket guys say 'well at least you got one of the new trains tonight'. You heard a collective groan from the surrounding passangers. I thought the ticket guy was going to fall through the floor with embarassment.
