How interested are you in the caviar/vodka station at Cocktail Hour?

I have very simple tastes when it comes to food so I would never venture over to the caviar table, but I'm curious as to how many enjoy this type of station. Please let me know your thoughts!

I would try it - only because its not something I have the opportunity to have very often (or not at all - ever really)!

I thought of having it, but knowing both of our families, they'll most likely pass. I'm not going to do it.

I dunno what to do... I think it would be divided of people who love it / will pass on it
If you dont mind me asking how much does your hall charge for it?

i am having it because it comes with a vodka slide, which i really want!!

also because both mine and fi's family love smoked salmon. i personally have no interest in the caviar. i've never tasted it, but i think the texture would gross me out.

I think it is a very classy and unique idea .. Lord knows if I could afford it, I would add it to my reception just because it is soo cool. However overall, I think it would go to waste at my reception and all things said, it wouldn't be worth it.

As a guest, I would LOVE the vodka part, but NOT the caviar part .. My taste buds are soooo simple

find out what kind of caviar it is. Unless it is a really good kind, it is probably not worth it.

I'm Russian, so we're big on caviar. Find out what type it is - the best one is considered black (small - each grain is about 1mm). (There's red that looks exactly the same, but I think it's still called black =)) However, if there are no caviar experts at your wedding, you can go for the (real) red one (it's larger, about .5 cm each grain). I know they sell it in Brooklyn for about pound/$20, and good quality too. (Brighton Beach Ave has plenty of stores that will have it/provide it for you.)

You might want to try buying it separatly if your site lets you. You'll probably save a lot of money that way.

The other thing you can do is order a little bit (order for 30 people if you're having 100) and if there are left overs, take it home.

I suggest you guys try it - it tastes a lot better then frog legs ;). Put some on crackers (or on black bread over butter, the Russian way). It tastes exactly like a salty spread.

I think it depends on who your guests are. Personally I would think it was very classy/rich looking display. But I know my guests are not rich or classy (more so on FH side) and more on the trailer trash type people who wouldn't know what it is let alone know they are to eat it. So for me unless it came added in a package that I am not paying any extra for it would be a huge waste of $ for me to spend get it for the one or two people or the 'LOOK' that it gives.

You know me, I wouldn't be into trying that. I guess it would be somehting that people might try since it's not something people normally go out and buy for themselves but I wonder if it even tastes good. Yeah it would add that rich feel to it but I would stick to something you already know all your guests will love.

I would love to have it because it sounds so nice but it would be a waste at my wedding because nobody really likes either

I love different food but hate cavier - yuck! I would not be interested in a cavier/vodka station. I know a lot of people do it because they think it sounds classy but I much rather have a station that appeals to more people's tastes - I know in my or DH's family it wouldn't have went over well.

I am glad everyone is saying positive things about it, because it comes with the CH at Woodbury CC and it was something I never even heard of before.

I would like to try different things but probably not caviar

I have very simple tastes as well - I don't like caviar at all, so for me it isn't worth it. Plus, my family is as finicky as I am so it would definitely be a waste.
