I didn't know what to do with myself. First my power went out for a few hours but could get LIW on my phone along with listening to the fire radio, but then when LIW was down (which I wasn't sure if it was just me or the whole thing was down) I was lost. I'm hoping everyone is ok and doing well. Long Island is devistated. But we are resiliant! We will make it through this!

I live in Long Beach and evacuated to a hotel in Melville. We can't go home for 2-3 weeks they are saying. Long Beach got hit really bad but thankfully we have no water damage. We are sooo thankful since all of LB got flooded.

how is everyone doing?
My family and I are doing good. I live in Queens. People in my neighborhood got flooding and half the neighborhood is without power. Thank God we did not have any flooding and we lost power throughout the night but it came back on. I hope all the 2013 brides and their families are safe. For those who might have been affected my heart and prayers go out to them. I hope they recover from this very difficult disaster.

I'm happy to hear you and your family are doing well and are safe. Also very happy to hear you don't have any water damage. I saw on the news how bad Long Beach was hit :(

Noelle, glad to hear you had no water damage. The important thing is you are ok! Things will get back to normal hopefully sooner than later. Stay safe

how is everyone doing?
Didn't go that far. Sorry to say, i dont think they would be having a wedding this weekend. Foods spoiled, water damage and no electricity. The town was also hit very hard, most everyone has 3-4 ft of flooding, either in a basement or on the 1 st floor.

I'm in Carle Place (Westbury) and we had so many down trees and powerlines, I doubt we'll get power back for at least a week. We drove around last night and I know parts of Hicksville and Syosset have power. The amount of trees/damage in Garden City was SO sad. Every block had at least 5 enormous old trees down or through houses.

So sad! I can't imagine what any bride who was planning to get married this weekend must be going thru. Horrible!

I'm absolutely devestated for my friends and family who lost their homes or had bad damage.
Fh got sent to breezy point yesterday and he said its beyond worse than what te media is saying... Hundreds dead and sooooooo much looting over millions of dollars taken.

Hundreds dead? News is saying 31 in NYS. I'm sure that number will grow as time goes on but to go from 31 to HUNDREDS, that's frightening.

how is everyone doing?
Not too sure how Bridgeview would pull off a wedding this weekend, there is no water or power. My brother lives around the block from BV and his entire first floor was under water and a tree fell on his house! Thankfully he and his family left. LB is in such bad shape, the boardwalk is gone, some many houses including my friends houses burnt down, my moms porch and part of her room blew off. And just about everyone I know lost their cars. So crazy!!!!!!!!!

My FH was there as well on a 36 hour shift... the death toll isn't in the hundreds, probably closer to 50 or so when all is said and done. A lot of people drowned in their houses when they flooded or burned in them in a huge fire that destroyed about 50 houses or so. FH put pics up and they are gut wrenching...god bless the first responders...it would have been so much worse without them.
