how is everyone saving $$$

How are you guys saving $$ for the wedding? Like, are you putting aside X amount from paychecks and cutting down on dinners outside, or investing $$ somewhere?

We opened up a joint checking account and are just trying to place a certain amount aside per pay check. But we have been also looking at houses so once that comes through, that plan may not work as easy hehe

I've heard of those...but you have to do it with trustworthy people...otherwise they can be scams..right?

We are doing a 'credit' system we are only allowing ourselves to eat out or go out once a week--- and if we dont then we can save it for a big weekend.

Also we created a wedding fund that we put $1500 in each month- we average it out as if its rent or something.

Be careful with those- my father lost a lot of money from one of those when I was younger.

we have been putting money into our joint account from our paychecks but now we are just gonna take the super job salary check and put it directly into there and then add a lil each as we go along

We have a 'wedding account' that I put money in when I get my paycheck.

We decided early on for each of us to save $25 dollars a week. It doesn't sound like much, but it's adding up. My FH puts in more from week to week, which is awesome. We took that money and the money we got from our e-party and put it into a savings account. We're still going to deposit $25 a week into this account. Oh and I am putting some of my tax refund money away!!

Not spending $ on anything unnecessary, not going out to dinner, saving all money minus bills in the wedding savings account....
