So ladies, how is your mom/fmil doing with her dress shopping? I'm having so much trouble with this and really have to order ASAP! I've seen a few I like, but I'm just not sure what look to go for...
If anyone would like to post pics I would be soooo grateful!!

My mom refuses to even try dresses on until she looses some weight I'm so afraid she's going to put if off to the last minute & then freak out about rushing, but what can i do? i'm just hoping she finds something she's happy with- she's much pickier than I am!

I did the same thing, waited to lose some weight... now I'm just 5 months away from the wedding and salespeople are raising their eyebrows at me, like what were you waiting for!?
Tell your mom they can order a dress and take it in when she loses more weight?

my mom also got that same dress from totally you only in a dark navy blue.. prob is that we had such horrlble customer service my mom doenst really even want to go back.. they were sooooo rude to us there my mom was getting disgusted cause she's a little chunky though not fat and lots of moms that were there were trying on size 16's when my mom is like a 22 and she was so irritated and instead of the lady saying its ok u will find something that u look great in she gave my mom an attitude and made her feel even worse. the only reason we got the dress was cuase i saw it on another mom and i fell in love with and it pushed it on my mom cause with 2 1/2 months to go we have no choice in fact she had to take the floor model which is 2 sizes to big for my mom cause it takes 3-4 months to order and we dont have anymore time .. but she was rude and unhelpful the entire time .. not looking forward to going back to pick the dress up (she only left a deposit)

That's awful! The trying on is so stressful to begin with, the samples are almost always ridiculously small, your mom surely didn't need that attitude!
I hope she isn't getting it altered there!

we have to pick it up in like 2 weeks and then she might take it to the seastress that is doing my dress that she is friends with instead ... the place has great dresses but horrible customer service.. they also dont take checks and all my mom had on her was a check they only take cash or credit so luckily my grandmother was there and laid out a deposit in cash.. she was more pissed off then

I will say that getting my mom's dress has been the biggest pain in the you know what. She definitely has been to more stores and tried on more dresses than me. To be honest I don't blame her. Some of the dresses out there for MOB are absolutely disgusting. Some are so old fartish. Well finally this past Saturday she has finally found her dress. We are going back tomorrow for her to get sized and she wanted to show her sister for another opinion. We both love it though. I will post pics as soon as I have them.

my mom ordered hers and trust me we went to sooooooo many stores because shes very particular- we ended up going to my daughters wedding in great neck and she found the perfect dress!

Finding mom's dress is giving me a headache!!! She thinks she found the 'one' and now she is in the process of brining the entire effing town to see it and give opinions!!! I swear she has gone back to try the dress on four times.....

FMIL just ordered her this weeknd and my mother got her dress 2 months after we got engaged, which was a year ago! She wasnt even looking and she was in Nordstrom's and saw it and bought it-Im so not my mother's daugher, it took me over 10 stores and 7 months to find mine!

I've heard of My Daughter's Wedding... Are they expensive? I went to Alta Moda and was so disappointed, they had beautiful dresses but very few under $,1000!!

Yeah, I was getting stressed about it, because our wedding was in about 5 months.... So, I started pushing her into stores after new years, and flooding her email with different pictures.
I finally took her to estelles dressy dresses and found it right on the rack
Now she only needs shoes!
MOG just bought this dress, I'm still deciding. Do you think I would look too under-stated if I wear black next to this gown??

I made an appointment for my mom and fmil at My Daughter's Wedding. Their gowns range from $350- $4000.

My FMIL has a dress!!! yay for her!!!
However, my mother, well thats a different story after looking and looking still NO dress! She needs to get one soon
