As a teenager and early twenty something, I thought I would marry a long-haired artsy type guy. Musician, writer or something. I thought he would be Italian or Irish and would definitely be a creative type.
Instead, I married a short haired, tone deaf (love you, sweetie!) financial analyst from Poland (the dumb Polack jokes are SO untrue!!)
When I look back at the crushes I had, though, they were just girlish fantasies.
And DH is sort of creative (with numbers) and had long hair when he was 18 (I want him to grow it out again)

I always thought I would marry a doctor or lawyer that I met in college (they kept quoting us these statistics that like 85% of alumni from our college married other alumni!). DH is a bowling, poker-playing accountant who I met at a bar....

I was going to marry a blue eyed dark haired British or Australian guy with a terrific accent....
And so I found an absolutely hysterical, brilliant, sweet, adorable short Italian guy!
So at least I got the dark hair right!

Never really thought I'd get married - but FH is a complete contrast to what I'm typically attracted to. I've always like the blond hair, blue eye, tan surfer dude. Instead I've landed myself a proud Italian (as am I) with brown hair and brown eyes. He's no surfer dude, but he's a heck of a fisherman!

yeah in HS I was always so into the artsy, long haired musicians...soooo sooo much...so my FH is opposite what I thought of as a little girl AND asa teenager. But I bring out the creative side in him, and acan you imagine , if I were marrying somosne just as impractical and right brained as I am? forget it
