We had decided it would be a spring wedding a long time ago.
But we booked the RH about 2-3weeks after we were engaged. We were engaged on Sept 26th and booked the weekend after Columbus day (October). We had to switch the day (from Sun to Sat) since the date we wanted was already booked.
We also decided early on that a year to year and a half engagement was all that was needed - well, that was more my decision then his LOL

We started looking at different reception halls right away. My sister and I went to a few, then FH came to a couple as well. We got engaged in May of 2009, and we had our reception hall booked by the end of June. I think that you should visit as many RH's as you can so you can get an idea of what you would like.

we got engages last Christmas & booked in January..we don't waste time..lol we knew what we wanted & needed to figure out how much it would cost to get the best price as far away as possible & start saving!!!

we booked 2 weeks after getting engaged.
Our engagement total will be 2 and a 1/2 years.

We booked 5 months after being engaged..... I would say start looking at least.... Once you find the right place you will both want to book right away
