Should i seriously start looking at halls.

I'm looking to have my wedding sept 2010. I already started and got a lot of prices and stuff.
But after talking to some people they think that it might be too early. Primarily because it's hard to give a hall a guarantee for something that is 2 years away. I can't tell who will still be in the area, who will be away at college, who might become married or engaged etc.

thoughts??

Definitely the earlier the better - especially if you are set on the date you want to book. We got engaged on Thanksgiving 08 and booked our RH two weeks later (so a yr and a half before the wedding). We also wanted the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend 2010 - and we were suprised when we started looking that some places were already booked for that date!

We got engaged June 08' booked our hall August 08' and are getting married June 10'

If you book ealry you will lock in the 2009 rates now. So it will be cheaper, plus September is becoming such a busy wedding month that if you want somewhere specific you should try to book ASAP

I got engaged in April of 2007 OMG seems so long ago. We booked our RH that August of 07. We are getting married 9/18/09. sept is a popular month so I wouldn't wait. My idea was to book everything early so I got my pick of who I wanted ...and so far I have! Good Luck!

I am getting married sept 2010 also. I booked my RH in Oct 2008. I would start looking soon because popular dates in May, June, Sept and Oct book quickly

Got engaged in September, booked in January but were looking since October. My wedding is in 2010 and dates are filling up! If you are able to DONT WAIT! Get together a guest list so you know about how much you can guarantee the RH

hey friend

i would say 1. since your getting married around a popular time and 2. since you only reallly have the one or two days to pick from and have no other options you should book soon....

when we went a year in advance a LOT of places were booked and only had a few choices of dates left.. so if you want your date i say the sooner the better!

We got engaged in July 08 and booked a July 10 wedding within two months. Many of the places we looked at said that they were already booked for July 2010 when we went--two YEARS in advance! My FH and I are both teachers, so we knew we wanted a July wedding, and we fell in love with our RH, which only had two days open in July 10. If you are set on a venue or date, I'd book as soon as possible!

This is soooo true and it also gives you more time to pay off the RH. FH and I got engaged in MAy and are getting married this May so it only gave us less then a year to pay off the RH

I would suggest booking 2 years before. I didnt though, I booked about a year before and because of that I couldnt get the date I wanted.

We booked the RH a lil over a month after being engaged for a wedding that was about a year away from the booking date.
