How long are you waiting to have kids?

Just wondering.....I feel like baby fever is all around me...and everyone is looking in my direction next......

AND I'M 150% NOT READY!

FH and I say 'eventually,' but we are both busy living our own lives and want to spend a few years as a married couple taking trips, buying and fixing up our next home, taking trips with our other couple friends, and just living for us. And I like to have drinks on the weekends. Plus, I still need to find a 'career,' because right now I only have a 'job.'

I kind of feel like people (our families) think this is kinda weird, especially since I'm 28 and I'm the one so against kids right now. I want to wait until I'm at least 33.

When anyone brings up the topic of kids (and gasp--my kids) I start to feel really freaked out. I'm so not ready.

Does anyone else feel this way....or do I have no maternal instict??

Totally normal to feel that way. I had the same feeling for a long long time. I didn't start really feeling ready until this past year. I'm 33 now. FH and I are planning on starting to try right after the wedding.

We are the same way. Our close friends are all starting to talk about having babies (and SOON!) and FH and I are like . We are just so not ready yet, and want to enjoy some one-on-one time.

The closest I get to thinking about babies is because we have been seriously talking about buying a house instead of renting. Ideally, I'd like a house where we could at least start raising a family in (although I'd really like a 'forever home') and I keep saying I want a house on a street that I can go on walks with the babies.

If FH has his way we would have already had one LOL. We talked about it and agreed that we want to settle into a house before trying for baby #1.

We are not going to try right after the wedding we want to get our home situated first however if it happens we will both be Excited

I understand what you mean about wanting to have ONE-ON-ONE time... We want that too, but, I think we're going to play it by ear. I think babies are blessings and we'll have one whenever the time is right...

We aren't planning on trying until 3-4 years after the wedding.

Fh and I are probably not having kids. I dont want one after 30 and he doesnt know when he wants to start trying. I will be 28 by the time we get married and he will be 34. So most likely no babies for us. I figure if I can make it to 30 without children Im gonna travel

Ideally, we want to be married for at least two years before starting a family. Of course all of our friends and family want us to start immediaely. I want just time for us .... once you have a kid there is no taking that back. I think it would be nice to just enjoy us for a litlle while.

If it was up to FH we would already have one but I said not until we get married LOL so maybe a few months after the wedding

Fh would wait but I reallllyyyy want a baby! I have for the past 4 years! Its not baby fever anymore its just I want a child...I believe I was put here to be a mom. I will b 31 when we get married so I want to start trying right away.

I am waiting until helll freezes over and pigs can fly, because that is when I will be financially and emotionally mature enough to bring a child into this world ETA, I'm already 30 so if I don't want them now, I figure I'm just missing the mom gene.

I think we will probably start trying in 2 or 3 years. I definitely want to have my first baby before I'm 30 and I will be turing 27 2 weeks after we get married so we'll see

I guess ultimately it depends on how stable we are financially and whether or not we can afford a house in the next few years.

we will wait a little-- we wants lots of babies.... but just want to wait... we are in no rush!!!

omg! Everyone on here is sooo young! I'm 31 and will be turning 32 almost 2 mos after our wedding and still don't feel like having kids! I still want to go back to school and finish my degree and I've also been around kids continuosly since I was 21 because i'm a full time nanny currently working 65 hrs/week. Kids are cute and fun but ALOT of work and there is no need to rush it!!!
