Just wondering.....I feel like baby fever is all around me...and everyone is looking in my direction next......
AND I'M 150% NOT READY!
FH and I say 'eventually,' but we are both busy living our own lives and want to spend a few years as a married couple taking trips, buying and fixing up our next home, taking trips with our other couple friends, and just living for us. And I like to have drinks on the weekends. Plus, I still need to find a 'career,' because right now I only have a 'job.'
I kind of feel like people (our families) think this is kinda weird, especially since I'm 28 and I'm the one so against kids right now. I want to wait until I'm at least 33.
When anyone brings up the topic of kids (and gasp--my kids) I start to feel really freaked out. I'm so not ready.
Does anyone else feel this way....or do I have no maternal instict??

I'm backwards. I adopted as a single mom. My daughter was 2 and I got her on my 38th birthday. I'm 40, FH is 42. We weren't trying but found ourselves preggers earlier in the year and had a subsequent loss. I feel happy with one. Kids are a HUGE responsibility and not everyone has to or wants to be a parent. I think you know when it's time and this should not be dictated by your friends, your family or society. I have friends my age with college kids and those with newborns. Good Luck!

I totally agree with you...FH and I have always said we would start around 29-30. We are just not ready to jump into it yet...we want to travel after we get married and just enjoy each other. I feel like as long as both you and FH are on the same page its completely fine

Everyone around me is having babies too. My mom keeps saying we better have a baby soon and FH is like on the honeymoon band wagon but I would like to wait a little..at least until after Michelle's(DCGirl) wedding Sept 17 th lol ...my dress is just fitting me now can't gain anything!
But honestly I would like to know that a house is in the near future before we get pregnant or at least soon after we have the baby

im 26, will be 27 a month after the wedding. FH will be 27 after me, we are hoping to wait til we are 29, bc i want to pop one out before 20, he wants 3, i dont know who is giving him the other 2, lol!!! :)

You guys are all so young!!!! Enjoy - I on the other hand - am worried that I'll be going thru the changes by the wedding - I will be 36 Getting right on it right away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two-three years. I'm 25 - I'll turn 26 a month after the wedding. He'll be 26 when we get married. I just want to enjoy my husband, get a house and just all around be financially prepared. I would like to have baby # 1 before I'm 30

i totally understand you! DH and I are 25 and still in medical school...and then residency so we have awhile too. we just arent ready yet! there are days where i'm like, 'yes i want to have kids now!' and other days where i'm like 'i'm so not ready yet , i have so much to do still' we want to enjoy one -on -one and travel too. we prob will wait a good 3 years.

I'll be starting Physican Assistant school hopefully inJ anuary 2012...and the program is for two years. After the two years are up...I'll be popping out one..LOL
