How long did it take you & how many did you try on before you decided on THE DRESS???
Now that I have 365 DAYS TO GO I am going to start looking soon - just curious how long it took you ladies. I dont want to get frustrated and just choose one for the sake of choosing - I want to love it!

I found my dress on my first trip out and it was probably the 12th dress I tried on. I knew as soon as I put the dress on like everyone always says!!!!

I got the first dress I tried on..I put it on and couldn't take it for like an hour....but just to be sure I tried on the 7 other dresses I took into the room with me and none of them could even measure up- I even went to my next appt. bc I made appts one right after another at places very close and felt bad cancelling at the last minute- the minute I walked into the other place I knew the first dress was absolutely for me :)

Seriously, maybe more for me ... I thought I'd never find one that was 'me' but I FINALLY did! Some people are lucky and find it soon, others like me, it took a while!

I guess I am the anti-bride. I hated trying on dresses. I knew exactly what I wanted before I even went shopping, I found it right away, and then everything else was just annoying to try on. I went to 4 stores and about 50 dresses at the insistence of my mother, but ended up with the first one that I knew I'd get!

I feel like we are the same person! I know what I want too and I hate the thought of trying on dresses! And I am sure my mom will be a pain too!

I tried on about 40 dresses and ended up getting the 2nd one I tried on. I kept on coming back to the one I ended up buying.

1 day - abouth the 7th or 8th dress. - tried on a few others for good measure after it but I knew it as soon as I tried it on.
Re: How long did it take you & how many did you try on before you decided on THE DRESS???
I think it was about 5 places and 10-25 (in each place) or more, I don't know I lost count ---I know sounds like a lot, but I didn't know what I wanted (I'm the type of person that can't make a decision quickly) - tulle or satin, ball gown or A-line - but I did know I wanted strapless.
And there was one I liked at BR (but still wasn't 100% sure -- I need to sleep on it) and I made an another appointment back at BR and I tried it on again and others too! Then I tried it on one last time -- AND FINALLY I KNEW IT WAS THE ONE...I got a little teary-ied.

Believe me, it wasn't a pleasure to try on so many dresses. I went in with pictures - knowing what I wanted...and after trying those dresses on, they weren't 'me'. Nor was it fun traipsing all over LI to 6+ different salon's.
But the worst was trying on sample dresses in a 10 or 12 when you are a 2. How are you supposed to get an idea for how the dress will actually look when they're clipping it so much that the boob is under your armpit?!?
