They told me 12-14 weeks. I'd say about 3-4 months is average, although a lot of places don't put the order in right away and they tell you it will take 6+ months. This way they don't have to worry about storing your dress before your fittings and so that they can keep your deposit longer (therefore earning interest on it) before placing the order with the designer.
But off of my tangent...I think 3-4 months is average.

The salesrep told me my dress could take up to 6 months, but the manager of the store told me about 3 months. i ordered my dress in March and it was in the store in June. I don't think they mind storing it because they are storing mine as well as my flower girl dresses,, I will be starting my fittings end of december. I do think on average it is about 3-4 months.

I thought it depended on the designer, and could take up to 6-9 months. I never gave any thought about the storage factor. If they don't order it now, the won't have to store it. I would say the sooner you order it, the less likely the price would go up.

I ordered it in August 2001 (my wedding was August 2002) and it came in December 2001. December 2001 I paid it in full.

I ordered mine in Feb. 2003 they told me that it will take at least 9 months It came in June/ July!

they told me about 6 months....and it's been 7 months and i havent' heard from them....they told me the designer was running a little late when i asked in september.....and i ordered it in april when the whole war thing was getting in the way of shipping internationally i'm going to be calling them this week to see when it's coming in though
