6.5 years for me too.
I started as an Admin Assistant, then I switched over to Marketing. I was just promoted to an Associate of my firm this past summer.

will be 5 years this July. Started as Admin Asst, and got promoted after a year to Asst. Managing Editor - where I've been stuck ever since with no opportunities for advancement.... ggggrrr!!!!
Also looking for a new job bc of lack of management and shifts in departments.....
It was 5 years January 18th, for me. I started as Managing Editorial Asst and then was promoted to Asst Managing Editor and, like you, have been stuck here with no place to go

Juliet - at least we know we're not alone in our stagnant Publishing jobs! I used to be convinced that I was the only person who was stuck like this, but it's nice to know it's not just me anymore!!
I'm hoping to find something new soon - my resume is under construction and DH's dad is helping me out with some headhunters too! I'm keepin my fingers crossed!
