How long is the gap between your ceremony and your reception?

How long is the gap between your ceremony and your reception?

I have a 3 hour gap.

What will my guests from Jersey do after the ceremony? I don't know if they're familiar with Queens, and my house is too small to accomodate them?

I don't want them following me to Planting Fields, so what do you suggest?

it is a mass so it will be about an hour in between my aunt and uncle will open my parents home and have some cookies or soda or whatever to keep those out of towners busy- it will take an hour almost to get to hall from my parents home so it really isnt all that much time...those who dont want to go back to my parents are on their own. we will be busy with pics

Are they staying at a hotel? Maybe they can come to the ceremony in casual clothes then go back to the hotel and get dolled up for the reception. Our ceremony starts at 3:30 and our CH starts at 8:00. We have a big gap but we figure that it gives our guests time to go home relax and get ready and gives us enough time for pictures.

we have 2 1/2 hours in b/n which we'll be doing pictures. we'll probably give them a list of things to do in the area, shopping, etc. but really, it's not your responsibility to keep them occupied. the oot people can go back to their hotel, if not too far and hang out.

our ceremony's at 3 (full mass), CH begins at 7 - we also might provide a list of local attractions, but i'm really not too worried about it. the gap's not unusual at all and i've always dealt with it, so i'm not worried - people can be very resourceful.

Our reception immediately follows the ceremony (getting married @ hall)

We had virtually no gap.

Our ceremony was in a church a few blocks from our reception site. The ceremony ended with just enough time to walk to the reception site.

I didnt want to have people waiting for us so I arranged it tightly.

we have about an hour and a half... but the hall is about 40 minutes from the church- so people we really just have about 30-45 minutes 'down time', which isn't too bad
