How Long is Your Gap Between the Ceremony & Reception??

I need to get an idea of everyone's space in between, b/c I feel like my gap is way too big... I'm getting married in the Fall, and would like to take pictures in the daylight before the sun goes down, BUT I don't want to see FH before the ceremony...
..AND... B/c we are getting married on a Thursady, I didn't want to make the reception too early b/c I know people get stuck in traffic, and still are getting out of work...
Can you ladies please tell me your times, so I'm not going to crazy here...Thanks!!!

My church is at 4:00pm (full mass)
my reception starts at 6:30pm...
do you think we have enough time to take pictures??
Where are you taking your pics? And how far away is the church from the reception place??
For us the Church is at 3pm, and the cocktail hour starts at 6:30pm...WM is appx 30 minutes from the Church and so we'll have an hour to take pics...

Church is at 3pm ( Ceremony) Reception is at 7pm
We are going straight to the reception hall after church for pics. Family will meet us at RH at 6pm for Fam. Shots. ( only aunts uncles cousins etc..) If its raining then we are going to the studio for shots there.

Gina, I think your plan makes a lot of sense. Pictures in the daylight will be beautiful!
As for my timeline, it is actually negative!
Full mass at 11 am and then a solid half hour drive to the reception that starts at 12:30.
Oh well! This is what I get for insisting on a day wedding on the water.

ceremony is at 1 pm, reception starts at 6
there's a 30 minute drive between the church and the hall so when you factor in daddling and traffic, and what-not, it's that that much time in-between for photos

I have the same prob the church is at 2 and the reception at 730. We are taking pics and we have a party bus to hang out on if we have to.
