how many are you inviting how many do you want to show?

so my mom gave me her list today, she has 87 and she figured pretty much everyone will show. FMIL sent her list, she has 64 but only thinks 47 will show. We still need to get a list from FFIL and do our list. Our goal was to stay at 180 and under. how many do you think we should invite if 180 is our goal?

Invited 350...Guaranteed 250..I don't expect everyone to show but people surprise you sometimes!!

We are in a slightly different situation. Our minimum is 180, and we REALLY can't afford any more than that. So we are only going to invite 200 or so, knowing who will definitely say no (a 96 year old great aunt from Boston, for example). For us, because our budget is tight, we'd rather pay for empty seats than have to pay more than we're anticipating. Of course if we find a TON of people respond no, then we have a B list ready to go!

invite at least 20% more than your minimum. this is what we plan to do.
