How many Brides NOT doing Receiving Lines?????

Just curious...
Don't think we're doing one.

we didn't do one.

To tell you the truth, I never even thought about it! That detail just totally didn't enter my mind in the planning process.

Oh Well, I don't think anyone missed it!

We are not doing one simply because of time restraints. Our church and hall are 45 min apart on a GOOD day, not including friday rush hour.... I want to have time to take all my formal shots so that I can attend the CH and mingle there....

We didn't have one - mostly because we got married at the reception hall there really wouldn't have been time. If we had a church ceremony, I would have done it. I kind of like them

I wanted one, but we can't do it. We are getting married at the reception hall and we have too may guests. We would never make it to the reception.

I don't think we're having one, for many of the same reasons that Bunnymonkey mentioned. We're getting married at the hall, there are only about 130 guests, plus we'll be at the cocktail hour so we'll have plenty of time to chat with everyone. I always think the receiving line is awkward if you don't really know the bride or groom (like when I went with FH to a co-worker's wedding).

I'm not having a church ceremony and there's really not enough room to have one at Thatched. I'd rather not do one anyway just due to the fact that I'm going to see everyone again at the cocktail hour where FI and I are going to make our rounds so it seems redundant.

We did not do a receiving line. We were married at our reception site so the cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony. We took photographs immediately following the ceremony and made the last 20 minutes of it. If we had done a reception line, attending the cocktail hour would of never happened.

This might be a stupid question but I have never been to a wedding without a receiving line.... how do you end the ceremony, just walk out the door and start pictures outside the church? I am interested in this idea even though I have at least 3 hours between the end of the ceremony and the CH but I have to go from Babylon to Mt Sinai with pictures in between. I definitely do not want to miss the CH.

I did one outside church mainly because I did not have kids at my weddings, so a lot of my little cousins came to the church and I could not rrush away, they were so excited to see me

We didn't do one...though It felt like we did, because EVERYONE who could find there way over to us rushed us after the ceremony! We were trying to round up to begin picures, and I couldn't walk 2 feet without encountering a weepy loved one!
it was fine though, we just made sure to make our way around the WHOLE room at the reception..more than once!

We're not...there's no time...we're doing the ceremony and reception at the same site.

We aren't doing one either. We figured we'd go around during the cocktail hour if we have time or during the reception.
