We made one for every guest, we had a program attendant handing them out but she said most men wouldn't take them if their wife/date took one. So we had a lot left over. If I had to do it again & I had 240 guests I'd make 180-190.

I ordered 125 programs for my 175 guests (even though I invited 270) and I had about 40 left over. Hope this helps.

I was going to make more than the number of guests that I am expecting. I think that some neighbors who are not invited to the wedding and some of my parents coworkers who are not invited will show up to the ceremony at the church. I was going to add about twenty to the number, just in case.
But now that I see the experience that Kelly had, I may be rethinking how many I will make
I know it wasn't my question, but thanks for your response, Kelly. I would not have thought of men doing that.

Yeah, that's what I figured you know?
I have ceremony fans and tissue packets, I doubt the men will be running to get those lol

I'm soo glad I won't have to make the full 240 and I doubt many naighbors will be trekking into NYC to see my a ss get married lol

I'd over made our ceremony programs. We had 150 guests and I'd made about 200 programs as many people tend to take extras home to the non-attending guests. Many guests also take extras to show to their friends of soon-to-be brides or have extra souvenirs. IMHO, I'd rather have extras than be short on programs.
Our programs were handmade by myself with our computer and printer with the paper I've purchased and personalized ribbons purchased.

What we did after the ceremony of a friend's wedding is we brought the programs to the reception hall and placed the program basket on the placecard table. For those that didn't attend the mass, they were able to get a program. Everything was color coordinated so it worked out perfectly. She had a few left to spare-no more than 10. BTW the WE here were the readers.
