Just a random thought... I'm getting married on a Saturday. Do you think it's too much to take off on the Thursday and Friday before the wedding and on the Monday? I thought abt going to work on Thursday, but By the time I come home get nails done, get ready, and get bridal party gifts ready, etc I'll be late to my own rehearsal lol. I'm a teacher so I hope my principal doesn't think that's too much but I feel like I need it! Well Monday maybe not lol but I feel like the day after the wedding will be busy with family still in town and my mom is gonna do a big lunch. So Monday would be nice to just relax and do nothing w my fh. Hmmm thoughts??

If you are already thinking you need those days... TAKE THEM!!! It's your wedding you want to be able to enjoy time getting everything ready and not be stressed running around. You'll regret if you don't. My friend got married on a Saturday and only took Friday off, nightmare rushing everything.

I also think it's reasonable. You want to enjoy the time and not be stressed trying to squeeze last minute things in. It's once in a lifetime.. Your job will understand I'm sure.

I think it sounds perfectly reasonable! I would just double check with your principal/school administration if you need documentation or how to put in for your days. I know for me, we only get 2 personal days a school year, and if you are out 3 or more school days in a row, you need a doctors note, unless you received prior permission from the principal.

For almost any other industry, I'd say it's perfectly reasonable. But honestly, in a school this usually wouldn't fly. I think you can do Thursday and Friday, but I wouldn't push it with Monday. Just keep telling yourself how close you are to Christmas break!

I think that sounds reasonable. We are getting married the day after Thanksgiving so I know I will be off the day before and my office tends to close or let off early that Wednesday. Usually it's a pretty slow week so I plan on asking to work from home Monday ans Tuesday as well

Hahahaha! I am getting married the day after you. We are off New Year's Day and I am taking off that Friday as well as my girls and then off the following week for the honeymoon. That should be enough time for you and I don't see why your boss should give you a hard time. It is for your wedding.

I'm getting married on a saturday and I took off the Thursday through the next Wednesday. We're taking a mini-moon the sunday-wednesday which is why I went a little longer :)
ETA: I just realized we're getting married the same day!

I'm a teacher and got married the Sunday of Columbus day weekend. I took off Friday & Tuesday (since we had Monday off). Honestly I think it's reasonable, and if you have the days, why not. If you aren't sure, talk to your principal & explain the situation.

How many days to take off??
We are getting married on a Saturday and I was hoping to take off Thursday, Friday and Monday. Thursday and Friday will be for getting last minute things settled, rehearsals, etc. Monday I'd like to have off because we have so many OOT guests and I'd like to spend time with them before they head back. I don't think this is unreasonable.
