how many 'guests'?

how many 'guests'?

how many with 'guests' are you inviting? and by guest i mean like you do not know their date at all, their not dating someone specific so you cannot address it with a name. and are you following the rule, 'over 18 must be invited with a guest.' we seem to have an awful lot of people that fall into this category so im trying to see if i really have to follow this rule!

If I can . . none! But realistically probably a few. That would only be if they don´t know someone there. For instance There are a couple of my sis´s friends who are also my friends through her who I am inviting. But since they´re not in relationships I will invite only them. Knowing them this is cool with them (i ran it by my sis too just in case)

However, if it´s someone who doesn´t know anyone or very few people there then I will tell them to bring a guest. Or for instance there is a group of friends of FH and I think most are married and only one or two arent´. In that case I would let those two people bring a guest so they are not uncomfortable.

I find that sometimes if you put and guest people will just find someone to bring who means nothing to them. i remember when I was younger being peoples 'guest' just because they felt they had to bring someone. I´m not talking just guys but girl friends or friends of my mother, neighbors, etc.

Waaaaaaay too many and I hate that we 'have' to. If I wasn't in a serious relationship I wouldn't bring a guest to someones wedding that they would have to pay for and then I would have to cover in the gift.

well we have about 15 male guest since my fh still keeps in contact with the guys he grew up with AND his old college roommates...

But only a third of them are bringing dates...
so to even that out, I have my girl friends who aren't in committed relationships come alone (you know how easy it is for girls to find a date)...
in that way the dudes can dance with the single girls and not be bored

I think we're going to invite about 180 and we hopefully will have between 150-160 guests at the wedding.

To keep our number down, we are only inviting our friends with guests that have boyfriends/girlfriends; ie we are not inviting our single friends w/ guests. I know it kind of $ucks but we are really trying to keep the wedding on the smaller size. Hopefully no one will get offended

Also, we are not inviting anyone under 18 at all

Not a lot at all. Honestly probably only 6 people with the 'with guest' option.

We're inviting very VERY few people with an 'and guest.' I think there are 2 people that we are inviting who won't know ANYONE else at the wedding, so only they are being invited with a guest.

I think we are going to end up only inviting people who are in steady relationships... there is just too many of them (most college age) that are single and wont have someone specific to bring. I think when they are invited with a guest sometimes they feel pressured to bring someone, so they just do for the heck of it, when in reality they could care less.

I also think that if someone doesnt know anyone else that is a different situation and they should have a guest regardless. but i dont really have anyone like that, most are cousins who will know everyone at the wedding!

i think its okay to handle on a case by case basis. i hope!

we pick and chose who we are inviting with a guest. the people that are single will not be invited with guests. we explained to a lot of fhs friends to take eachotheras dates lool to our wedding cuz we simply cant fit that many ppl in our room. they all understood. i think women are the ones that cause alll the problems with this issue. men are ok with not bringing a date.

women are soo ...HFKJWHSkjfhzekjshk

only people who are in serious relationships OR the occasional person who would be seated at a table with all couples. everyone else who is single isnt getting invited w a guest. most of our single friends are lots of fun and friendly anyway so id rather see them hang out with each other and all the people they know rather than entertain someone who doesnt know a soul there!
