How many halls did you look at, before you found 'THE ONE'?
I feel like i'm being super picky. I Dont want to look at every hall on long island, but I want to love the place and just can't seem to find it. :(

Don't stress about it.
Look at as many as you feel you need to.
WE eliminated like 4 because we'd been to them before, like 3 more because guarantees were ridiculous and then looked at like 7.... and wound up choosing the first one.
But look at as many as you feel you need to find what you're looking for... and if you tell us what you're looking for, maybe we can help
Date Budget Indoor/Outdoor? One bride? Doesn't matter? On the water? On the beach? Gardens? Mansion feel? Catering hall? Modern? Old fashioned?
What's your vision? Tell us what you want, and pick the top 3 things that matter the most about the place. We we very picky about certain things and eventually had to compromise and rank our preerences... and we kept doing so and dicsussing it til we felt wefound the best possible combination of everything we wanted that we could. we've seen about 15 already...
we agreed on ONE hall so far
going to see our last and final hall this sunday and then its decision time
I think you need to narrow down a few things that are very important to you...and then weed out your list..
for us it was
MUST be one wedding at a time MUST have grounds for pics and ceremony

We looked at 8...it took us 2 weekends of looking at places before we decided on our RH...a place that we had already been to for a wedding!

Eventually I relied on my parents input and I'm really happy with the choice we all made

We fell in love with CLM (2nd one we went to), but we wanted to look around a little. This was during the first big snowstorm, so a lot got canceled. We wound up going to 4 in total, and stuck with our original feeling about CLM.

I'm going to sound crazy, but I only looked at 2, and I chose the first one. Something in your heart just tells you that it's the ONE. When FH and I pulled up to our RH, we just knew.

I've been t about 15 weddings in the last 4 years so it was kind of easy to eliminate some of the halls. We looked at 6 and picked the 2nd one we saw.

We ended up looking at around 30, and that was after ruling a few out before we even went because of size. I know you don't want to visit everywhere, but I'd encourage you to look until you KNOW you have the place you and your FH love.

I looked at 6 RHs (including mine). I looked at 3 of those after seeing CB and then I went back to CB and brought FH bc he didn't come with me the first time and we booked on the spot! But I was feeling like I was being picky too. Just give it time and eventually you'll realize which RH you really want and it might be one you've already seen!

FH and I looked at 15+ halls
WaterMill was the last one and we got such a feeling- like O M G this is the one- we could see us getting married there.

We looked at 5 including CLM. We were also to a LOT of weddings in the past 4 years (30+) so we knew what we were looking for and knew what certain halls looked like in person so it eliminated a lot of looking for us.
Waht type of hall are you looking for? we can all try to help you to find what you are looking for!

Try not to stress too much; it can be a lengthy process or you can find your hall on the first visit. I have a tight budget so i called/e-mailed places 1st to see what their prices started at. If i knew they were out of my budget (as most were) i didn't even bother going...for the ones in my budget i made appt to visit them so in total maybe 6?

i looked at 5 or 6, the last one we went to was the one we decided on. We visited three times before putting the deposit down. It was stressful at the time, I thought I would never find somewhere. Now, I kinda wish i was still searching for places. It's fun to see whats out there! & being the first big thing me and My Fh were going to be deciding on together was exciting!!

we looked at 8 and booked the 7th one. It was very stressful, but I agree with someone else when they say you just know the right place when you find it. I know so many ppl say that, but I really think its true with the RH. Keep looking til you find something you both love. Also, like someone else said, we called a lot of places before to see what their prices/minimums were like. If we couldn't swing the price or min guarantee, we didn't see it. That helped narrow down A LOTTTT of our choices. Good luck!

We looked at 4 (including the Riviera) over a 2 day span and we booked the last one - even changing the date so we could book with them.
SOme people look at a lot and some people don't - everyone is different.
But what kind of things are you looking for?? we can all help give you some ideas

my FH and i had been to a lot of wedding over the years and since all of our siblings our married - we didn't want to get married where they did - so that eliminated some places for us right there.
we ended up going to 6 halls, with the Riviera being the second one. I just knew that that would be it after we left, but GH wanted to see soem more just to be sure.
1 week later we went back and booked.
it doesn't matter how many you see and it doesn't make you crazy for seeing so many - you should definately look and shop around until you find something that is perfect for you two. It will come eventually.
Ironically - we are getting married in a church and we saw over 20 churches before we settled on the one we chose. we didn't even see that many RH!
