Re: How many halls did you check out
I've only been to Flowerfields for a wedding 2 years ago. They have beautiful grounds except that it rained that day so they have to move the ceremony indoors. I love the indoor pond and bridge. The only thing that bothered me was the ceiling. They have exposed ceiling trusses and which reminded me of industrial buildings. But that's just me, it's my profession. Most ppl didn't even noticed it. And to answer your question, we only looked at 4 RH. We picked the second one.

Re: How many halls did you check out
Of the halls on your list, we checked out North Ritz, Lands End and Crescent Beach Club. Obviously, Crescent Beach was our favorite!
FH liked North Ritz, but they had a high number of guests that you needed to guarantee for a Sat. evening. I think it was 200, but I may be a little off on the number.
Lands End also had a relatively high minimum. The location was nice, but a little out of the way for our guests.
I absolutely love Crescent Beach. The staff there has been so friendly answering all of our questions. FH and I are beach people, so that was definitely a big draw for us.
Good luck!

Jericho Terrace The Watermill DeServesky Mansion The Hamlet (Commack) The Hamlet (Mt Siani) Fox Hollow
The Woodlands.
There is nothing better then having your reception at a hall that hosts one wedding at a time. I visted some of the other RH mentioned and they were hosting 2 affairs at the time and my head was spinning!

Re: How many halls did you check out
To answer your question DH and I went to eight (yes 8) halls in two days since I have only Sundays and Tuesdays off.
We visited the following: - Temple Judea in Massapequa - Coral House - New Hyde Park Inn - Sand Castle - Imperial Room (in Inwood) - Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst - Pompei - Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach, Queens(which as you can see we went with)
I've been to a wedding at Fox Hollow and Jericho Terrace and they both did lovely jobs- I did like Jericho Terrace better tho if I had to choose between those two RH.
I have to say I fell in love with Russo's though- living in Queens all my life I dreamed of having my wedding there- who knew it would be a reality when we went there.
Also they were also capable of having more than one wedding at a time there- most places pull it off very nicely I have to say- both Fox Hollow and Jericho Terrace did a great job of managing more than one wedding at a given time.

DeServesky Mansion....where is this??
Isn't Jericho Terrace and Fox Hollow more than one wedding at a time? We def. want a place that is only having one wedding!!

Re: How many halls did you check out
i looked at about 6. I knew Vineyard Caterers was the one second I got there. I cried when I saw the CH area. I got emotional thinking about what our wedding day would be like there so we knew we had to book! I haven't seen any of the other RH's.

I know they are both capable of having more than one wedding at a time. I think however that they are good at what they do and also at the weddings I have been to at both places, things were running very smoothly.

I think we went to 5. All were beautiful. Some were over the top glam, just not my style. When i went to the swan club, i fell in love with the charm of the place and it doesnt feel at all like a catering hall. I happen to be the only wedding on my night althoguh theyy do have an anniversary party downstairs.

We looked at about 12. From your list we checked out Crecent Beach Club and Lands End. Both beautiful. We were seriously considering Lands End, but in the end, chose the Thatched Cottage, which is not on the beach, but is on a lake and is beautiful as well. Check out as many as you want to, you want to know that you chose the place that is right for you!

Oh gosh we went to maybe 10-12. At first when we went to check out Flowerfield they had an event so we weren't able to see it but we were able to go back the following weekend and we fell in L VE! IDK...we just knew it was THE place for us.

Re: How many halls did you check out
We looked at:
Woodbury CC Fox Hollow Metropolitan Westbury Manor Crescent Beach Club The Royalton Stage 6 -- Abigail Kirsh The Metropolitan Building in LIC Carlyle on the Green Flowerfields
I too wanted to be the only wedding that day. I was very disappointed at a Jericho Terrace wedding. The wedding called for 5:00 and we arrived at 5 and the bride was standing outside the ceremony room ready to walk down the aisle. Most missed her ceremony and on top of that the bass from the DJ next door was booming through the walls throughout her entire ceremony.
Crescent beach club was very nice but you're paying a lot of money for just a catering hall in the event of rain. I felt like we were going to pay more than the average CH for the beach setting and if it rained it was a waste of money.
Flowerfields you can at least feel like you are outside in the inside room and can get a steel drum band for Cocktail hour to set the mood.
The Metropolian and the Royalton do one one wedding at a time.
Fox Hollow was a good bang for the buck. They gave a lot for a lower price.

We saw Crescent Beach Club, Land's End, Windows on the Lake, and Chateau La Mer.
Crescent Beach Club was beautiful but it was a little too far for us and they don't do tastings. I didn't think it would be nice if it rained.
Land's End is beautiful even if it rains...and the food is delicious!!! FM me for more info if you'd like
North Ritz Club Fox Hollow Westbury Manor Woodbury Country Club
Of the halls on your list, my choice would be Flowerfield. We were there for a wedding in September, and it was unbelievable. It's absolutely gorgeous and the food was beyond delicious, the CH was unlike anything I've seen before and the service was great.
It sounds silly, but you'll know it's 'the one' when you see it. When my husband and I walked into our room at WCC, we looked at each other and just knew that was where we wanted our wedding. Cheezy, but true.
