We have our first app't tomorrow with Vineyard Caterers. We would also like to see North Ritz Club, Lands End, Flowerfields, Cresent Beach Club, and East End. Anyone have any feedback?

Re: How many halls did you check out
We checked out so many- I can't even believe it (Of all different price ranges too!): Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Manor East, Ariana Waterfall, the Carltun, Chateau Briand, Westbury Manor, Cresthollow, The Sterling, Leonards, Holiday inn of plainview, & Jericho Terrace.
After awhile, one just started blending in with the other one- I couldn't keep the all straight! But I'm glad I checked out as many as I did: It was the VERY last fall that I choose!

13! And we had a gut feeling about Georgio's and finally made it work to go with them!
I've only gone to a wedding at Flowerfields.. I too was unimpressed with the ceiling, but how often do you look up? And the staff was great, but the reception room is very plain. And the outside was bland as well, with lots of geese and you know what that means..

Hi! We looked at Crescent Beach Club Yale Club (NYC) The Woodlands Glen Cove Mansion The Royalton and..... Vineyard Caterers.
LOVED Vineyard Caterers. It was perfect for us. The setting, the service! We cannot wait for our wedding in four months.

Re: How many halls did you check out
We only checked out three halls because I had this whole thing that I didn't want to be on a super busy road like Jerricho Turnpike or Hempstead Turnpike, etc.
My mom was against us looking too far into Suffolk because NY is already out of state for over 50% of our guests and she didn't want to add time on to their trip.
I didn't want something that was filed with marble and forgive me, I'm Italian and pilars and Italian looking halls aren't our style. I love wood, rustic or something ... and that's how I narrowed it down to only three places.

I too wanted to be the only wedding that day. I was very disappointed at a Jericho Terrace wedding. The wedding called for 5:00 and we arrived at 5 and the bride was standing outside the ceremony room ready to walk down the aisle. Most missed her ceremony and on top of that the bass from the DJ next door was booming through the walls throughout her entire ceremony.
That's horrible that you can hear the bass of the DJ in the other room at that time- I'm surprised that nobody said anything (the bride or groom, etc.). Had that bride been me I would have been very vocal about it.
All RH try to start on time- so imo if a ceremony calls for 5pm then it is going to start at 5pm or close to it (like 5:05pm).
I know I had my ceremony at 11:30am at Russo's and it started on time - which I thought was great because they only give you 30 minutes for the ceremony to take place- any longer than that and you're risking taking some of your CH time away.
I told people that I like to be on time and following the schedule- that's just how I am as a person- imo if you didn't start on time that means there was a problem somewhere with the wedding or wedding party.

Re: How many halls did you check out
I don't even remember all the halls we looked at. Here are a few:
Tavern on the Green Central Park Boathouse Tribeca Rooftop Chateau La Mer Crescent Beach Club
After we checked out CLM, we cancelled our appts with Venetian Yacht Club and Flowerfield??? b/c we decided it was too far for our guests.
I honestly can't remember...it was exactly one year ago...talk about early altzheimers!! lol
I've been to a wedding at North Ritz and the setting was not 'me and FH' but the FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!! The service was also outstanding, and everyone at the wedding was dancing non-stop all night...i could definitely label that wedding as a 'perfect wedding' for the bride, b/c it was her perfect setting, perfect food, and perfect service HTH.
We fell in love with CBC b/c I wanted a destination wedding and CBC was the closest to the city that I can have that feel.

We looked at about 12. From your list we checked out Crecent Beach Club and Lands End. Both beautiful. We were seriously considering Lands End, but in the end, chose the Thatched Cottage, which is not on the beach, but is on a lake and is beautiful as well. Check out as many as you want to, you want to know that you chose the place that is right for you!
Where is the Thatched Cottage? never heard of it.
It is in Centerport, near huntington. I never heard of it either until I found it in a magazine.

I never went to a wedding before that started that quickly. All weddings I have been to call for lets say 5:00 and the ceremony usually starts about 1/2 later to give your guests time to arrive. They also serve champagne while waiting. I would never want my guests to be rushed into my ceremony and if they are 10 mintues late, miss it.

Re: How many halls did you check out
We/ I checked out a ton... High and low we searched, all over LI like a mad woman. I had been engaged before but broke it off. At that time I feel in love with Flowerfields and had planned to get married there. I have heard great things about them. If i could, I would get married there but I do not think it is fair to my fiance now. They have a beautiful Atrium room which I loved. Food is supposed to be very good now, heard years ago it was not. I think you have done a great job and have narrowed down some of the nicest places. We went to my finance's sisters wedding at Vineyard caterer's. It was beautiful and the only vineyard that does not charge an outrageous site fee. That's a plus. It is very far out East, I do not know how you or your guests feel about that. North Ritz club is nice, very modern. There is not much land there, if that matters to you for pictures. Lands End is also one of the lovin' oven/Flowerfield halls. It is for someone who loves the beach/classy place. I have heard great things about them, also. For me, I was not crazy about Crescent beach Club. East end not sure about. I hope that helps a bit. We also liked the look of Harbor Links in Port Washington. It is very simple, green and lovely. But I a hesitant because it is a newish place...

Re: How many halls did you check out
I went to: Floral Terrace Chataeu La Mer Venetian Yatch Club Chateau Le Mer Louis XVI Giorgios Greentree Country Club Beckwith Point VIP Country Club Surf Club Lombardi's on the Sound Leonards Jericho Terrace
I actually think theres more but thats all I can think of right now..
I at first just wanted one wedding at a time too, but once I saw Jericho Terrace I didn't care anymore..lolz
Floral Terrace has one wedding at a time and it is GORGEOUS and they have an AMAZING menu!! I went to my cousins wedding there and it was honestly the best I've been to.

Re: How many halls did you check out
We wanted 1 wedding at a time....
We looked at about 7 places:
Giorgio's (booked) Crescent Beach Club Flowerfields Lands End Thatched Cottage Lombardi's on the Sound VYC (looked at with my sister)
Mostly it came down to who had the nicest ballroom, $$$, and available dates and menu options. Giorgio's just blew everyone away and their service so far has been impeccable!
Feel free to FM me for details on the other halls and what we liked/disliked about them!
